Ukrainian interceptor drones are now capable of autonomously shooting down Russian Shahed drones. A Brave1 developer has created a technology that automates 95% of the interception process - from launch to target destruction. The system has successfully undergone combat testing in Kharkiv region. The operator monitors targets in real time, selects a target, and authorizes the strike. The system then independently guides the drone to the target, autonomously identifies it, and carries out the interception. "Autonomy is one of the key directions in the development of modern air defense. Such technologies make it possible to respond more quickly to massive attacks and protect Ukrainian cities more effectively," said Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov Mykhailo Fedorov.

How do you stop a fiber-optic drone that is immune to EW? The answer is kinetic — you have to shoot it down. But hitting such a small, high-speed target has been the primary bottleneck for defenders. A Brave1 participant has developed a solution: a compact, AI-powered turret that detects, tracks, and neutralizes drones autonomously. The operator simply authorizes the strike. Of course, the turret is not limited to countering fiber-optic drones — it effectively downs FPVs, Molniyas and other UAV that the enemy deploys against our forces. Watch the first footage of the system in action on the battlefield.

⚡️❗️Compact anti-drone air defense systems designed to counter small strike drones and FPVs are now entering Ukrainian frontline units and seeing real combat use. The system autonomously detects, tracks, and calculates the trajectory of enemy UAVs, with the operator only needing to confirm the engagement with a single button press. Importantly, the technology is capable of countering fiber-optic drones, which are immune to electronic warfare systems. The K-2 Brigade became the first to deploy the turret in combat conditions. The system is now reportedly in use across more than 10 Ukrainian units on key frontline sectors. 🎥 The video shows real combat footage of the turret engaging enemy drones.

We transformed Ukraine into a global tech leader and a defense powerhouse. Beyond digital IDs, Diia.Cіty, and 5G, we revolutionized warfare. Through the Army of Drones and the BRAVE1 cluster, we achieved a logistical lockdown for the occupiers, reached a 91% Shahed interception rate, and launched the unique e-Points system to incentivize our troops on the frontlines. 7 years of service. From GovTech to Defense Tech. Thank you for your trust!

⚡️ Ukraine’s new weapon against Shahed drones In the Kharkiv region, Ukrainian forces are already using the RapidRanger in combat — a light, mobile short-range air defense system. Reuters filmed a crew from the 1030th Anti-Aircraft Missile and Artillery Regiment “Aquila” of the 3rd Army Corps operating the system. According to crew commander Bohdan Hontash, the system entered service relatively recently, has already completed field and combat testing, and has scored a number of successful interceptions over the past few months. The new air defense system is especially relevant now: according to Ukrainian military data reviewed by Reuters, Russia increased its use of jet-powered Shahed drones roughly sixfold over the three summer months. These drones can reach speeds of more than 400 km/h, making them significantly harder to intercept.

Ukraine’s 1030th Aquila Air Defense Regiment is operating Britain’s RapidRanger air defense system in Kharkiv Oblast. The mobile system can detect targets at roughly 15 km and engage them at up to 6 km. Its current focus is intercepting Russian jet-powered Shaheds and Banderols. The crew can manually guide a missile by laser after launch, allowing it to track a maneuvering target. #Ukraine

A new video from the Ministry of Defense is a clear illustration of how a simple solution can turn the tide. The “Gerbera” decoy drones—which, according to their own statements, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have stopped intercepting because they no longer view them as a threat—are now flying in for a purpose other than as decoys. The footage shows only “Gerberas” in action. And they are delivering precision strikes on the positions of Ukrainian drone operators in the rear. Four drones—and the target is destroyed. Now the “Gerbera” is not just a blip on the radar. It is a fully-fledged combat drone that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will have to take seriously...

Technology developed by a Brave1 member company is already destroying Russian “Banderol” missile-drones. The enemy uses these systems to terrorize Ukrainian cities — now Ukraine has a new technological answer. The cost of interception is significantly lower than the missile-drone itself: the economics of war work in our favor. This is not the only system capable of countering "Banderols". We are developing and scaling innovative solutions to protect our people from modern threats. 📹 Footage: Real interception of an enemy "Banderol" in action.

InformNapalm reports a HUMINT+CYBINT operation that led to Russian air defense shooting down their own Su-57 fighter in Moscow region. Analysts intercepted training streams from BARS Moscow air defense crews, identified system vulnerabilities and influenced the crew to target Russian aircraft instead of Ukrainian drones. Russia's Defense Ministry blamed a "technical malfunction" while Z-channels discuss sabotage. The BARS Moscow system was created to protect the capital region from Ukrainian long-range drones but ended up eliminating Russia's own fifth-generation fighter.

Wild Hornets, the manufacturer of the interceptor STING, is launching its own private air defense unit 🔥 The Ministry of Defense has issued an order granting private air defense status to Wild Hornets — specifically to its anti-Shahed unit, Night Hornets, which already has significant combat experience and dozens of targets downed. Starting today, we are building our own anti-drone air defense network. It will include remote control centers, a network for remote drone launches based on Hornet Vision Ctrl technology, and field positions. We will not sell “facility protection” services. The operations of our private air defense unit will be funded by profits from drone sales. Night Hornets will operate wherever protection from russian attack drones is needed — as part of Ukraine’s overall air defense system. Our crews already go on combat duty alongside the military every day. The unit has destroyed more than 50 Shaheds, including jet-powered ones. The unit includes Wild Hornets instructors and test pilots. Among them are guys who started from scratch at the company and grew into top instructors, as well as veterans of the russian-Ukrainian war with real combat experience. The unit has destroyed most of its targets using our remote interceptor control technology — Hornet Vision Ctrl. Now, this effort is scaling up. Night Hornets crews will carry out combat missions under the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We develop technologies, manufacture interceptors, train pilots — and now we ourselves are becoming part of the system that protects Ukrainian skies. Including the skies over Kyiv. We develop technologies that work. And we use them ourselves to protect our country.

All Russian "Shahed" drones are controlled online, according to Flash Beskrestnov, an advisor to President Zelensky. According to Beskrestnov, an operator in Russia can see a live video feed from the drone and control it in real-time, essentially using the "Shahed" as a large FPV (first-person view) drone. Furthermore, more than half of these drones likely already have a target acquisition function. According to Beskrestnov, the operator can guide the "Shahed" to a specific target – a locomotive, shopping center, or ship – from several kilometers away, after which the drone will continue to attack the target automatically. In this case, electronic warfare systems are powerless, he added.
