A Ukrainian drone crashed in the Kastre Rural Municipality of southeastern Estonia as they were flying to attack Russia's Ust-Luga Port. Locals reported the sound of a drone over their houses, before explosions. Additionally, during the night, air alerts were issued for Parnu in western Estonia, around 180 km from the Russian border. Ukrainian drones have now crashed in NATO territory during 4 out of the 5 Ukrainian attacks on Russia's Baltic Sea Ports. From what I am hearing, none of these attacks have been particularly successful so far, and the Ukrainian forces that rushed into Ternovatoye have been scattered. Russian Army Group "East" may lose some operational tempo to this, "Center" may gain some due to Ukrainian redeployments. This is an extremely important part of the front for the AFU, and counterattacking here is a smart move, if somewhat suicidal for many of the units involved. I don't expect them to make any breakthroughs, it's mostly just a defensive tactic to tie up Russian resources, we'll see how effective it is. Drones making advances excruciatingly difficult goes both ways, as demonstrated here in Zaliznichnoye.

Slow Progress is the New Reality of Modern Wars There are many people commenting on Russian difficulties and coming up with numerous reasons for their alleged collapse. I absolutely do not see any collapse; on the contrary, Russia has already normalized a state of war in Ukraine, which boosts its economic and industrial growth. The difficulties faced by Russia today are the same as at the beginning of the war, with soldiers having to spend up to half of their initial salaries on their own equipment, delays in pensions, and a series of other problems that are mirrored on the Ukrainian side, even with all the support from allies. The war today is much less lethal than it was months ago, and both Russian and Ukrainian losses have significantly decreased during this phase. Lethality has fallen, but Russian advances persist. And why are they slow? Is it a Ukrainian tactic? No. They are slow because they are accompanied by the deployment of communication infrastructure like signal repeaters for drones, the advancement of artillery guided by drones, maneuvers using FAB and more recently ODAB bombs against Ukrainian drone operators' facilities, infiltration by reconnaissance teams, saboteurs, and a series of protocols they have developed. That conventional war with rapid advances no longer exists, and in the context of a battlefield dominated by drones, it is unlikely to return. Modern wars will have slow progress, as seen in the attacks and counter-attacks of the Russians and Ukrainians in this war. It must be the first time I have seen so many carolers, this is absolutely amazing! This is just the third year when the Christmas date is set to the original 25th of December. The Ukrainian People's Republic (UNR), the modern Ukraine's predecessor, celebrated Christmas on December 25th. It's wonderful how people are happily returning to their traditions and honoring them. In all the years when Christmas was according to the “Soviet schedule”, I have never seen so many songs and such vibrancy. When “nature is cleansed” of russian oppression, the colors of life return to their rightful place. 💫 💛💙
