Been watching a lot of footage of 2028 QB and now Alabama commit Charles Scott Jr. According to 247 in 2025 the 6’5, 255 lb sophomore threw for around 3,600 yards and 41 TDS on 178 completions. Only throwing 4 INTs!!! Scott Jr (son of his high school coach) has obvious massive upside given his size. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that already as a sophomore, he has an SEC build. The Good: - Kid is LARGE, much like Alabama’s recent five star commit Elijah Haven, Scott’s size allows him a full view of everything going on around him on the field. Mechanics benefit from his size - strong throwing platform. - Flashes plenty of natural strengths, including an explosive arm that doesn’t seem to have to work very hard to push the ball vertically. - Even as a developing HS quarterback, Scott Jr already shows a lot of finesse. Accuracy in highlight tape (provided below from Scottboyz on YouTube) is on the upswing, especially on layered and touch passes. - Although not technically a massive run threat, Scott Jr, given his size, can stress defenders on the ground, especially in short yardage situations. Areas for Refinement: - Shows promise with timing routes, but will get better as he matures over the next couple of season. - Mechanics are not fully polished as to be expected from a young QB, but raw traits still shine. Footwork under pressure! - Will grow into faster processing speeds as he continues his path. Will need this as he makes the talent jump to the SEC. All-in-all, this is a rising recruit in the 2028 class - one that will garner a ton of attention over the next several months, especially now that Alabama fully seated at the head of the table. Another potential eval masterclass from Kalen DeBoer, Ryan Grubb, and Bryan Ellis. The scheme fit for Scott Jr is perfect at Alabama. The size and arm talent are there, with touch on the way. Top 100 of 80s games or not? Personally, I think Archon (1983 by Free Fall Associates) is still one of the best and most unique games ever made. And above all, even 40+ years later it still has an incredibly high (re)playability level. Sure, the graphics and sound could be better - but the concept is timeless. I have no doubt it will still be remembered (and played) in 10, 20, maybe even 50 years from now. What made Archon special was - among other things - the mix chess-like strategic board play and real-time arcade combat in a way that felt revolutionary for its era. While pure chess games existed, none had taken them to the next level and mixed in action sequences like Archon did. As a result it probably attracted a lot more gamers than a pure chess game ever would have. The board features three types of squares: permanent light, permanent dark, and "changing" squares that switch between different shades (from bright to dark, including greens). Your unit's strength (hit points, damage, etc.) gets a boost when standing on a square matching its side's alignment during combat. Timing and tactics mattered to take full advantage of this feature. Also different from traditional chess were the win conditions: you had to eliminate all enemy units, or control the five special "power points" on the board. But the real kicker were the units that you controlled (or fought against). Unlike chess, white and black had asymmetrical units with distinct movement speeds/ranges, hit points, attack styles (projectiles, area effects, flight, etc.), and special powers. One of the best 2-player games ever for 8-bit systems back in the day. I always felt it would be a great project for a modern remake.

This is a clear sign of a sharp divide between the wealthy and everyday people on the question of AI adoption. While the working classes are heavily influenced to buy into the idea that generative AI platforms like ChatGPT, Suno, and VEO-3 represent the future of work, research, and art, luxury brands meant for the elite are concurrently reassuring their market that human craftsmanship, critical thinking, and genuine creativity remains central to their vision. “AI for thee, not for me” appears to be the message. Across Africa, multiple Western state and NGO actors are pushing for this so-called “AI revolution” to take a central place in African educational systems.
