Over a month after our last update, we continue to record steady and measurable progress on the reconstruction of the Lagos–Abeokuta Road. Although it is a Federal road that suffered decades of neglect long before the commencement of this administration, we took a deliberate decision to intervene in the interest of our people. In reconstructing the road, rigid concrete pavement is being deployed specifically at low points and areas with high water tables, where durability is critical, while other sections are executed using appropriate asphalt solutions. Today, I was delighted to open the historic U.S.–Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund (URIF) Managing Board meeting in Kyiv that delivered its first investment approval 🇺🇦🇺🇸 It is in a Ukrainian dual-use technology company, Sine Engineering, that operates in the fields of communications and navigation. Their infrastructural solutions are used by 150 Ukrainian manufacturers of UAVs and interceptor systems. I am grateful to US Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent for his leadership in ensuring the Fund’s efficiency. I also thank DFC Invests Chief Investment Officer Connor Coleman, US Deputy Under Secretary for International Finance Jonathan Greenstein, and all members of the US delegation who travelled to Ukraine this week despite ongoing large-scale attacks. Special thanks to Chargé d’Affaires of the United States in Ukraine U.S. Embassy Kyiv, Ambassador Julie Davis, for her continued engagement, support, and close coordination. NAF ENGINEERS DEMONSTRATE EXCEPTIONAL EXPERTISE BY REVIVING AIRCRAFT GROUNDED FOR 23 YEARS In a phenomenal display of engineering ingenuity, aircraft engineers and technicians of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) have accomplished the remarkable feat of reactivating a Dornier DO-228 aircraft, which had been grounded for 23 years. This achievement underscores NAF’s growing capacity for indigenous maintenance to bolster its operational readiness, whilst contributing to Nigeria’s inherent aviation capabilities. The aircraft, originally designated "5N-MPS" and operated by the now defunct Ministry of Mines, Power, and Steel, had been grounded at the DANA facility in Kaduna since 2001. However, sequel to a Presidential Directive for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to transfer such grounded platforms to the NAF for evaluation and possible reactivation, the NAF initiated this project. The NAF took on the challenge of reactivating this aircraft, a Dash 201 Series with only 1,081 flight hours since new, considering the task a unique opportunity to restore a valuable national asset. The reactivation process, for the grounded aircraft - redesignated “NAF-039” - was conducted between June and September 2024, involving meticulous planning and painstaking execution by a crack team of 5 engineering officers and 40 technicians from the NAF 431 Engineering Group (Engr Gp), Kaduna. This accomplishment, which required the application of advanced engineering techniques and adherence to stringent aviation standards, attests to the NAF’s growing technical expertise and resolute determination. The success of this project carries significant strategic implications, bearing in mind that, beyond enhancing the NAF’s fleet, it symbolises the Service’s resolve to achieve self-reliance in aviation maintenance for operational effectiveness. It also serves as a morale booster for the NAF engineers and technicians, showcasing their ability to undertake complex projects which otherwise would be outsourced to foreign entities. Caged and used for breeding. Today they met their new mums and are off to Ireland 🇮🇪 I’ll never forget the smell of little Faith and Phoenix when we first rescued them from the cages they were in and used for breeding. It was wretched and poor little Faith’s eye was being eaten alive by maggots. 5 months later and after building them back up it was an incredibly special moment for them as their 2 new mums came all the way over from Ireland to collect them… ✈️ They will fly home together and be in Ireland for Christmas. The dogs are small enough that they can go in the cabin which is so nice for them. 💕 The two ladies live within 2 mins walk of each other and are great friends already. So Faith and Phoenix will be seeing each other on a regular basis. 🐶 I know the two dogs very well and I could sense they were different today. Maybe it was all the treats and toys the lovely ladies brought but I think it’s a bit more deep than that. They sensed something big and good was happening in their lives. We get so many knocks with dogs and setbacks. So to see these 2 little angels and so many wonderful people coming together and Melanie and Patsy coming across the world to give them a home is what it’s all about. A Christmas miracle for the 2 little ones 🥰🙏

FBI sounds alarm on disturbing rise in assassination threats against President Trump | Will Potter, Daily Mail FBI Director Kash Patel said his bureau has been overwhelmed by 'copycat' threats to Donald Trump's life after James Comey shared a controversial Instagram post calling to '86 47.'
