In a disturbing escalation of political violence in West Bengal, the TMC launched a violent attack at the BJP District Party Office in Cooch Behar. The Assembly Elections are probably 11 months away but TMC have unleashed their attack dogs on the principal opposition party; BJP. This shows that they are losing ground and that's why they are resorting to violence so early. The Party Office is located in the Cooch Behar town and the incident unfolded in the presence of Mamata Police. TMC Goons along with Jihadists who are under the patronage of Mamata Police executed the attack. Several of our Karyakartas got injured badly. Recently, BJP MLA from Cooch Behar South Assembly Constituency; Shri Nikhil Ranjan Dey was attacked by TMC Goons while he was going towards Dinhata Court. Today's incident has reignited concerns over the deteriorating law-and-order situation in the district and all over the state as well. Today, despite having informed the police in advance that I intended to attend a gathering of supporters of the Islamic Republic, I was subjected to unacceptable and deeply concerning conduct by the Metropolitan Police Service. While I had engaged in no form of violence and was merely asking participants simple questions including “Are you Iranian?” and “Do you support the Islamic Republic?” I was first assaulted by a woman who threw a sandwich at my face. Shortly afterwards, I was suddenly subjected to physical force by a police officer. This use of force was so excessive and unprofessional that it aggravated an existing injury to my rib. Following this incident, instead of protecting me as the victim of an assault, the police threatened me that I must either leave London or face arrest. I was then again presented with the ultimatum of leaving the area or being arrested. This occurred despite the fact that the assault against me took place in full view of police officers, who failed to take any meaningful action to protect me. This conduct constitutes not only a clear violation of my right to freedom of expression and peaceful presence at a public gathering, but also demonstrates unequal and discriminatory treatment by the police. I will be pursuing this matter through the appropriate legal and oversight channels and will be filing a formal complaint against the Metropolitan Police Service for the violation of my rights. The deranged hatred in this country has gotten out of control. Today I was run off the road in Rocky River, and the life of me and my family was threatened by a person who proceeded to show a Palestinian flag before taking off. I have filed a police report with Capitol Police and the local police department. We know who this person is and he will face justice. When I came face to face with the attackers soon after the incident, they further threatened to attack our officials. They did not even spare the lady Corporators who tried to come to Shri Sahoo’s rescue. This is nothing but goondaism. I urge COMMISSIONERATE POLICE to act upon the complaint lodged by Shri Sahoo with the Kharavela Nagar Police Station and take prompt action against all the culprits to help restore confidence of our employees and people's faith in the rule of law.

What were the police doing when Youth Congress leaders were burning an effigy of the Hon’ble Prime Minister and painting the BJP office gate black? Is the intelligence system in Telangana even functioning? When the BJP State Office is being attacked in broad daylight, are the police simply watching? Are they working at the behest of the Congress? Don’t the police have a responsibility to protect the state office of a national political party located in the heart of Hyderabad?
