Very unfortunately, according to the rules, the player being onside at the time of the block doesn't override the fact he was in an offside position at the time the ball was played.

I was ready to believe that evil Zionists had gotten to the VAR officials. However, the Iranian player does appear to be in an offside position when the ball is played by his teammate. His foot appears to be further down field. For me, the goalie save would negate any possibility of offsides. Unfortunately, FIFA has consistently been ruling that only "DELIBERATE" opposition contact resets offsides. I disagree with this interpretation, ESPECIALLY when it's the goalie, but that does seem consistent with the way they rule the game these days.
