Thank you Unc! For a catch to be completed the player has to possess the ball while surviving contact with the ground. Cooks lost possession of the ball Had the Bills defender not been there the ball would’ve bounced off his hands and chest and hit the ground making it incomplete and the next play picks up at the original LOS BECAUSE there was a defender in position with hands on the ball, the ball instead went to him This is why Cooks immediately puts his head down and why the defender rips his helmet off This is a 1/100,000,000 type play Xavier Legette had a similar play happen against him last year It’s a bang bang play and you HAVE to go with the call on the field Josh and the Bills just aren’t meant to win the big one It is what it is
