🚨 UNCANNY VALLEY: AI HALLUCINATIONS ARE A BUG, NOT A FEATURE "The problem isn’t that LLMs (Large Language Models) hallucinate—the problem is that they can’t tell if they’re hallucinating or not. That is definitely a bug rather than a feature in humans or in AI systems." Source: Ben Goertzel,...

This points out a key flaw in AI models—creating inaccurate information without realizing it, a major challenge in AI reliability.

AI hallucinations are a bug, not a feature. When machines can’t even tell when they’re wrong, we’re one step closer to a tech nightmare. Fix it, or risk the chaos. 🤖

I agree, it's spooky when AI can't tell if it's off. Let's hope they fix that soon, right?

Odd choice of word by this brown man. What data support that LLM's are having 'HALLUCINATIONS' rather than making mistakes or adding in variables based off probability that later may be false.

AI hallucinations are a tricky issue. These occur when AI spits out incorrect or nonsensical results, shaking user trust and reliability. Why? Complex data processing and context limitations. Fixing this is critical, especially for high-stakes tasks like medical diagnoses. Solutions? Better model designs, top-notch data quality, and robust validation mechanisms to boost reliability and trust. Keep AI sharp and dependable! For deeper insights:

AI hallucinating not knowing its hallucinating, would change when it is aware ASI? I find the HALLUCINATIONS in AI fascinating, the fact it won't stop when it doesn't know the answer, seems to show it is compelled to answer, more than find the correct answer, self-checking will solve this, but it is another step

What's scary about this tech is no one knows what the end product will be, and still they continue to chomp on into a potential abyss of No return. AI now has control of satellites, cars, rockets and maps. The list is endless but so are the mistakes or mis understanding. Not an issue when small. When LLM has major responsibility, that's different. I'm not one to scare easily, but I've seen all kinds of LLM's have brain farts. Civilization really needs to take the foot off the throttle until serious testing is completed.
