Military Air Assets Decimate Terrorist Convoy, Neutralize Scores of Fighters in Coordinated Air Offensive Near Cross Kauwa By: Zagazola Makama The Nigerian Military, operating under the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), has recorded another significant operational success against ISWAP terrorists following a series of coordinated intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR), and precision air interdiction missions around Cross Kauwa and Ali Sherifti in northern Borno State. Zagazola Makama learnt that the operation dealt a devastating blow to terrorist logistics and fighting capabilities, resulting in the destruction of multiple vehicles and the neutralisation of several insurgents attempting to regroup within the Lake Chad axis. Sources said the mission commenced late on June 6 when an ISR platform established surveillance over a suspected terrorist hideout at Cross Kauwa, located along a network of tracks concealed within dense vegetation and scattered tree cover. Intelligence-driven reconnaissance revealed a significant concentration of terrorist activity in the area. Military sources disclosed that during the surveillance mission, operators positively identified approximately 12 vehicles concealed beneath trees and observed the movement of suspected terrorists attempting to evade aerial detection by moving between cover positions. The discovery pointed to what appeared to be a major terrorist staging area used for logistics, movement coordination, and possible attack planning.

NAF destroys terrorist logistics hub in Southern Tumbuns By: Zagazola Makama The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has executed a successful air interdiction operation against terrorist logistics in the Southern Tumbuns area of the North-East. The operation was carried out on Dec. 14 at Dabar Masara, a location identified as a terrorist stronghold, as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist activities and supply networks. A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the air strike followed credible intelligence indicating the presence of a terrorist workshop and sustained movement of armed elements in the area. According to the statement, the Air Component of Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai deployed an integrated force package to conduct coordinated Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions alongside strike operations. “Prior ISR missions revealed repeated terrorist movement within the area, as well as a significant concentration of vehicles concealed under vegetation, confirming the location as an active terrorist logistics hub,” Ejodame said. He explained that further surveillance on the day of the operation validated the intelligence, with terrorists observed manoeuvring around the identified vehicles. “Following positive identification and in strict adherence to the Rules of Engagement, the targets were engaged,” he added. The statement noted that post-operation Battle Damage Assessment confirmed that the identified vehicles were destroyed and terrorist elements neutralised. Ejodame said the successful operation underscored the NAF’s commitment to intelligence-driven and precise air operations in support of national efforts to degrade terrorist networks and enhance security in affected regions. Air Component OPHK Neutralises Terrorists in Precision Night Strike on ISWAP Hideout in Southern Lake Chad By Zagazola Makama The Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) has carried out a successful precision airstrike against an Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) hideout in the Southern Lake Chad region, neutralising several terrorists during a late-night operation supported by intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) assets. Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the mission was launched after persistent ISR tracking identified significant terrorist activity around Arenna, in Marte Local Government Area of Borno state. The operation, executed by the ISR platform, commenced at about 10:35 p.m. on July 23, following an intelligence report indicating the presence of about 50 motorcycles belonging to terrorists moving within the general area. According to operational feedback, the aircraft established overhead surveillance before conducting a precision strike on a building confirmed to be serving as a terrorist hideout. Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) conducted immediately after the strike confirmed that all terrorists inside the targeted structure were neutralised, while three additional fighters outside the building were also killed. The assessment further revealed that three other terrorists within the strike area were seen fleeing the scene, suggesting they sustained the shock of the attack and were attempting to escape. Sources told Zagazola Makama that the aircraft remained overhead after the initial strike to conduct further surveillance and, if necessary, engage fleeing terrorists with follow-up strikes. “The operation was intelligence-driven and executed with precision. The initial assessment indicates that the objective was successfully achieved, while surveillance continued to ensure that any surviving terrorists attempting to regroup or escape could be engaged,” the officer said. The successful strike is part of the ongoing air interdiction campaign by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI aimed at dismantling ISWAP and Boko Haram enclaves, disrupting their mobility, and denying them freedom of action across the Lake Chad theatre. At about 3:45 p.m on 31 July 2026, troops of 135 Special Forces Battalion, Dutsen Kura, detected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists through real-time surveillance systems as they intercepted four civilian vehicles and abducted their occupants. Acting swiftly on the intelligence, the Battalion deployed a Quick Response Force in pursuit of the terrorists as they fled towards the Mangari–Dora general area. The troops made contact with the insurgents and engaged them with effective fire, compelling the terrorists to abandon the abducted civilians and the four civilian vehicles before fleeing into the surrounding bush in disarray. During the operation, troops also recovered motorcycles abandoned by the fleeing terrorists. All 31 abducted civilians were rescued unharmed, while the four civilian vehicles were recovered intact. Following the successful rescue, troops dominated the general area and conducted further exploitation to deny the terrorists any opportunity to regroup. No further contact was made during the operation. The rescued civilians and recovered vehicles were subsequently escorted to Buratai, where the victims regained possession of their vehicles and continued their journey safely. The successful operation once again demonstrates the effectiveness of intelligence-driven operations in protecting civilians and frustrating terrorist activities. The Joint Task Force remains resolute in sustaining aggressive operations to eliminate the remnants of terrorists while ensuring the security of communities and major lines of communication across the North East Theatre. Airstrikes Destroy ISWAP Stronghold, Logistics Hub in Borno By Zagazola Makama The Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI has sustained its relentless air campaign against terrorist elements in the North-East, destroying a key terrorist enclave and logistics hub during a precision air interdiction mission in Borno State. Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was carried out at about 2:40 p.m. on Friday, July 10. The sources disclosed that the target was located at Yaganari, a notorious terrorist enclave within the Gezuwa general area, where insurgents had reportedly been regrouping and consolidating logistics for planned operations. According to the sources, the strike followed credible intelligence indicating increased terrorist activities and the massing of fighters at the location. “Persistent ISR missions were conducted to verify the intelligence before any engagement. The surveillance platform positively identified multiple terrorist structures, logistics hubs and visible movement of insurgents within the objective area,” one of the sources said. Following confirmation of the hostile activity, the aircraft acquired the designated targets and executed a series of precision attacks in successive passes, delivering onboard munitions with high accuracy. The coordinated strikes destroyed the identified terrorist structures, obliterated logistics facilities and neutralized several terrorists operating within the enclave. Military sources described the mission as another significant setback to terrorist operations in the North-East, noting that the destruction of logistics infrastructure would further degrade the insurgents’ ability to sustain attacks and coordinate movements. The latest operation emphasis on intelligence-driven precision strikes aimed at dismantling terrorist command centres, safe havens and supply networks while supporting ongoing ground operations by troops of Operation HADIN KAI. Security sources said battle damage assessment is ongoing to determine the full extent of the damage inflicted on the terrorist network, while air surveillance over the area has been intensified to exploit the success of the operation and prevent any attempt by surviving fighters to regroup. OPERATION HADIN KAI EXECUTES UNPRECEDENTED INTELLIGENCE-LED RESCUE OPERATION, FREES 360 ABDUCTEES FROM JAS STRONGHOLD IN THE MANDARA MOUNTAINS In one of the most significant hostage rescue operations conducted in the North East Theatre in recent times, troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), comprising Special Forces and troops of Sector 1, have successfully rescued 360 abductees from a heavily fortified Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) enclave deep within the Mandara Mountains area of southern Borno State. The operation, which was the culmination of weeks of painstaking intelligence preparation, covert reconnaissance, and operational planning, resulted in the safe recovery of men, women, and children who had been held in captivity under harsh conditions after being abducted from several communities, particularly within the Ngoshe axis. The successful rescue underscores the growing operational reach, intelligence dominance, and tactical superiority of OPHK in denying terrorists freedom of action and protecting vulnerable populations across the theatre. The operation was initiated following the receipt of credible and corroborated intelligence from multiple sources indicating the precise location of the hostages and the existence of an elaborate insurgent support network sustaining the enclave. OPHK intelligence elements subsequently launched an extensive target development process involving the integration of Human Intelligence (HUMINT), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), and persistent Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) operations conducted through unmanned aerial systems and long-range reconnaissance patrols. Through sustained intelligence collection and analysis, commanders developed a comprehensive understanding of the terrain, insurgent disposition, defensive arrangements, movement patterns, and the condition of the abductees. This intelligence-driven approach enabled the force to accurately map the objective area, identify vulnerabilities within the terrorist network, and significantly reduce risks to the hostages during the rescue mission.

NAF Airstrike Obliterates Terrorist Enclave in Borno, 12 Insurgents Killed By Zagazola Makama A precision airstrike by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI has destroyed a concealed terrorist enclave in Borno State, killing approximately 12 insurgents and wiping out their life-support infrastructure in another significant blow to terrorist operations in the North-East. Sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was carried out on Aug. 4 following credible intelligence indicating renewed terrorist activity around Chiralia, a densely wooded area long exploited by insurgents as a hideout due to its difficult terrain and natural camouflage. According to the sources, an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform, was deployed at about 11:40 a.m. to conduct an armed reconnaissance mission over the target area. During the mission, the surveillance crew identified several terrorists moving within the enclave, alongside a number of concealed life-support structures carefully hidden beneath thick vegetation. The facilities were assessed to be serving as operational shelters, logistics hubs and staging points for terrorist activities. Upon confirming the targets, the platform maintained continuous surveillance while relaying real-time intelligence and precise target coordinates, the attack aircraft executed a series of precision strikes on the identified locations, achieving direct hits on the concealed structures. Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) conducted immediately after the strike confirmed that the terrorist camp was completely destroyed, with the life-support structures reduced to rubble. Approximately 12 terrorists were neutralised during the operation, while secondary explosions and sustained fires indicated the destruction of additional supplies and equipment stored within the enclave. Military sources described the strike as a carefully coordinated intelligence-led operation that demonstrated the growing synergy between airborne surveillance assets and precision strike capabilities deployed by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI. The sources said the successful engagement would significantly degrade the operational capability of the terrorist cell by denying it a safe haven and disrupting its ability to regroup, plan attacks and sustain logistics within the area. They added that the operation forms part of sustained offensive air campaigns aimed at locating and destroying terrorist sanctuaries across the North-East, particularly in remote forested locations where insurgents continue to seek refuge after suffering repeated setbacks from ground and air offensives. The sources further disclosed that although the general security situation across the theatre remains calm, it is still unpredictable due to the fluid nature of terrorist movements. They, however, assured that troops of Operation HADIN KAI remain highly motivated, combat-ready and committed to sustaining offensive operations until all terrorist enclaves are dismantled and lasting peace is restored across the region.
