Underrated use case for the new World Labs model: transforming existing spaces. I took a picture of the lobby at a16z NYC, turned it into a "neon nightclub" with Seedream Edit, and then loaded it into World Labs. Fun to step through a familiar space in a new style 😎

Cool new launch for Project Genie ✨ World generation is now grounded with Google Maps. Pick a real-world location, restyle it, and draft a character to explore the scene. I turned a16z SF into a desert and wandered around as a camel.

added World Labs API to the simulation builder, you can now type a prompt and get a full 3D world with physics colliders loaded into MuJoCo all in your browser

Turn any world model from World Labs into a multi-user space for exploration and collaboration with FRAME. Voice chat, embodied AI agents, and tons more you can layer on top of the model foundation. This took all of 10 seconds to get going. The metaverse is so back. 😄

Occasionally I try an AI tool so incredible that I simply can’t stop playing with it. The new World Labs model definitely qualifies here. It’s almost impossible to describe how cool it is to walk through a 3D world that you generated from a single image.

World Labs just released Marble, and it’s wild. Their multimodal world model lets you prompt a high fidelity 3D world with text or an image, then explore it on Vision Pro like you’re actually there. We’re stepping into an entirely new era.

World Labs CEO Dr. Fei-Fei Li explains says "world model" has become an overloaded term & explains what each kind of world model does: "Right now there are three ways of calling world models when it comes to spatial intelligence." "One is what I call a renderer, when the model puts beautiful pixels on the screen." "Another kind of world model is what we call a planner. That is more for machines, more for robots." "The third kind, which I think is the linchpin of the three, is a simulator." "A simulator could become a renderer. The simulator could become a planner. But this layer is a huge critical path to unlock spatial intelligence. And that's what World Labs is working on." Fei-Fei Li at Bloomberg Tech live with Emily Chang

Real human motion inside a generated world hits different ⚡️👀 We built a world with Marble by World Labs, reconstructed it into a 3D environment with Jawset Postshot, then dropped in multiple SMPL characters with motion from Meshcapade Me and ran it in Unreal Engine 🎮 No suits. No markers. Just real movement colliding with synthetic space 🧠 It feels wrong. That’s the point. #MarkerlessMocap #GaussianSplatting #DigitalHumans

a bunch of you said this would be huge for real estate 🏡 so i pushed it further: virtual staging just went 3d 👀 the flow: 1. capture 16 ultra-wide photos 2. stitch into a 360° equirectangular panorama 3. feed that into Nano Banana 2 Lite with a staging prompt → generate a newly staged 360° image 4. reconstruct that into a fully navigable 3d world using World Labs you’re not just staging photos anymore - you’re staging space i’m starting to think 360° panoramas might just be the bridge between 2d and 3d worlds edit the pano. edit the world.

The moment is right to push forward into a new frontier for AI — one that is as fundamental as language, says Fei-Fei Li. That frontier is visual spatial intelligence. With Justin Johnson (Justin Johnson), her cofounder at World Labs, and a16z's martin_casado, Fei-Fei explains what unlocking this technology could mean, and why we’re in the midst of a “Cambrian explosion”:

We asked Cory (Founder) why Chinese AI labs hand p0 Systems free inference... Spinning up a new AI lab in China is easy and cheap, per Cory you can whip up your own model in under a day. The hard part isn't building the model. It's getting anyone to use it. This is the trade: - Labs get real users and token throughput, the numbers they show investors to prove people use their model - P0 gets cheap (often free) access to strong new models New labs need distribution. $P0 is the one providing it.
