Underscores knows a thing or two about making forward-thinking pop music that mashes together influences from all kinds of genres. So Tia Ho asked her… What’s the deal with pop music right now? “The influence of hyperpop has become super big,” she says. “You can hear it in most... of the alternative pop songs right now. It’s really sick. I would have been so geeked about the radio when I was like 15 if this is what was going on.” U points out that “all of the kids who were raised with unrestricted internet access” have grown up and they’re pulling from a much more broad range of influences. They’re also not trying to repeat some of the mistakes of previous generations, she says. 🙏🏿 this is the stuff of beautiful dreams really🙏🏿 I first met MamLetta almost 30yrs ago officially at a dinner to launch a place they called “Back of the Moon” here in Jozi. All the legends were there, I mean all of them, and little me of course. I was always in rooms I was too small to be in but felt so at home there. I chased her down a passage and sang “Tristeza”, telling her it was my favourite of her songs. She was shocked that I not only knew her music, but that I know that song in particular. She has an astounding discography and her kindness and gentle mentorship have carried me through the 30 sum years I have been in this business. She influenced everyone. If you listen to the opening of Mamani you might hear what you would later hear in the voice of Busi Mhlongo. She is an integral part of the South African voice and technique. #LettaMbulu

She was literally in every corner of the globe. Even in Japan she did cars and candies commercials. This was pre-socials media and she was still omnipresent. That type of Star power doesn’t exist anymore! She ruled the world with a wave of her hands 👸🏼 I respect her soooo much because she did that at such a young age in the physical era of music. She did that where people actually went out to buy her music. Nobody at her age had such a cultural impact. Streaming platforms kinda ruined everything if u thinking about it. Because they distorted the perception of a real success and impact of an artist. Today’s kids don’t know a third of what the Britney Spears phenomenon was. She’s basically the formula, the industry before her was one thing, after her it was another in every aspect! Mind you, the mid tik tok dancers y’all praise doesn’t even have the 3% of her iconicness, fame and impact she had in pop culture. She sold 150 million records in PURE SALES and ORGANICALLY without internet, socials medias and streaming platforms, she’ll always be an icon & despite her life and retirement her music is STILL charts, being spun, sampled & trends on socials networks. And literally the 80% of the music industry is trying to emulating what she did. Britney will always be a reference, the blueprint, the buisness model. She changed the music industry and impacted generations of singers. Period.

I felt that in scenes where the music was laid in, even when someone is k*lled, there were times fast-tempo, bright songs, or music that feels more like mainstream pop come out. I was wondering if that was influenced by B.I, and also what kind of discussions you went through to place that kind of music in each scene. Director: Music Director B.I actually already has a personal connection with Actor Jo (Byeong-kyu), which I mentioned earlier, they worked on a music together. I was introduced to him. When I first met him, he was already someone who had created many works with a distinct personal world of his own. He also has deep understanding of film and the script. When I showed him early edits where I had already laid in some music, he would take in my opinions while also bringing out his own style. Overall, I wanted the music in “Boy” to include a wide variety of genres, techno, pop songs. Having that kind of mix not only makes it more fun to watch, but I also felt that it matched the emotional tone of “Boy” very well.

I mean, you got an example of it. And then we saw later, we saw the incentives coming from Blue Cross Blue Shield, and those began to surface over time. So there were incentive programs that were implemented around 2021 to further incentivize doctors to vaccinate? And do those incentive programs come from the insurance company or from the Department of Public Health?" Lionberger: "Well, I became aware of this because of the flow that we have with the number of patients that we see. "And here's an example. We had a patient go into her pediatrician's office, had kids in there for a number of years, and she said, I'm just not sure about these yet. And I— And I, my kids got this allergy and that problem, and this allergy. And I'd them to be exempted for a while we see how these things play out. "And he basically said, if you don't vaccinate, we're going to kick you out of the practice. So either vaccinate or you're leaving now. I mean, just that. And she says, well, I'm not going to vaccinate. I mean, if you're going to kick me out— He says, fine, you're kicked out. "And he grabbed what he thought was the patient's file and he threw it at her. Right? This is the her telling me what happened. And so she gets out and she goes to opening up this file. It actually was the file for his financial payoffs and incentives for vaccinating a certain percentage of his practice. Right? We have a copy of that in our records now." Mayer: "So he threw what he thought was her medical— The medical chart for her kids at her in frustration and anger because she wouldn't vaccinate. And it ended up being the wrong folder. And it contained his incentive plan for vaccination?" Lionberger: "It was his entire, not only incentive plan, but his earnings. $1,400,000— or about $1,400,000. I guess—I remember generally. But it was more than $1,000,000. Okay? In terms of incentives, with all of the breakdown. "And so you're like, wow, that really is happening. Right? It's not just a rumor. I mean, you got an example of it. And then we saw later, we saw the incentives coming from Blue Cross Blue Shield, and those began to surface over time. "And, the timing of that is a bit muddled, but it's there now. It's an incentive for the pediatricians and, you know, as everybody seems to know more now, the pediatricians really wouldn't be busy and have any practice if they didn't have the vaccine schedule. Right? "And yet, if you ask them details about it, most of them don't go very deep in terms of information. They just follow it blindly, almost. Exactly."

So the discourse around this Dave Ramsey clip is so mixed up that I’ve just decided to upload the whole thing. In the full context of the call, the caller makes it perfectly obvious that: 1. She has been with this man, whom she is now living with, for six years. 2. She is a nurse and can make her own money. 3. She has been out of school for two years, and in that time she has paid off $70,000 of the debt. In the course of the call, Dave never suggests that this man should have to pay for that debt. Indeed, he actively suggests that she leave him, which guarantees he will not pay for the debt. Dave also all but says that, because of her career choice, the caller will be able to pay for the debt on her own, even if she has to take extra hours. All Dave is saying—and this should have been obvious from the original clip—is that the two are not aligned on money and debt at all. It is also clear that Dave thinks the man is stringing her along, which he is. So they simply should not be married at all, because this is a fundamental failure in the relationship. I myself would add that, at this late stage in the relationship, if you do not trust a woman financially, you should simply not be with that woman. And that is perfectly fine. But what you do not do is drag her along for six years when she obviously wants to get married, and then put another two or three years of financial hoops in front of her so that maybe you will propose. It is a waste of everybody’s time.
