Rey Mysterio shares that Kurt Angle had three choices for an opponent at the 2002 SummerSlam event, and Angle chose Rey. “Again, we don’t do this work on our own. We always need that guidance. The right person, opponent to work with that’ll build you up to the next level, and the first one to kind of pull me aside was Kurt Angle, at that time. I remember he told me they gave him three opponents to work with for SummerSlam which was my first pay-per-view with WWE, in Long Island, and he said, ‘I chose you. I’ve always wanted to work with you since I’ve seen you in WCW.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, truly honored,’ and he was like the first guy that kind of pulled me under his wing and was learning all these new methods of how to make my craft much better…” (Six Feet Under)

Joe Hendry tells us that he thinks that Kendal Grey is the female Kurt Angle: “When I speak about Kendal—to me and how quickly she’s taken to the business, how good she is—to me, she’s the female Kurt Angle in terms of if you think about how quickly he took to the business at the early stage he did. Everything comes so naturally. She works very hard. I think she’s going to be a huge superstar and I think she’s going to be a huge star for WWE. The sky’s the limit. I think she will very likely go all the way. But those are just words, right? It’s going to be exciting to see her journey over the next couple of years, but the sky’s the limit. She can go to the absolute top.”

In our 2021 interview with the Patriot, he spoke about Kurt Angle using his theme 'Medals' “Well, he got it the same way I did, I’m sure. I’ve never talked to Kurt [Angle] about that particular subject, but I was given a list of songs to listen to. I didn’t know at the time that [Sgt.] Slaughter had used it on one occasion to go to the ring or maybe more than one. But, I do know one occasion he had. It was the one I had picked out of the list of songs they gave me. I liked it the best. I thought it was fitting. Then he ended up using it as well. More power to him."

P.J. Washington on why he believes the Mavericks can turn things around next year: “We get a good pick, we get Kyrie back, we get Dereck back. Start to build a really great team. So, gonna get a lot better this summer, guys will be healthy, guys will be working together, so, I think it’s gonna be really good for us to get some time off and then some time to work together, and just see how we look next year. I think, like I said, the future is bright, so for us, it’s just coming in and be healthy.”
