Camden Hayslip (Camden Hayslip) is the definition of perseverance. After overcoming two cyst surgeries his freshman season at Alabama, a broken thumb as a sophomore & torn ligaments in the same thumb four days before opening day his junior year, he never gave up on himself or his ability. Camden transferred to UAB for his senior year & got hot in the second half of the season putting up 14 HR, 8 doubles, 2 triples, 10 stolen bases, 54 RBI. Finished leading a strong American Athletic Conference in league play HR & RBI while finishing third in OPS. Last summer he played in the Pacific Empire League in California hitting .330 crushing 11 HR with wood. A former Perfect Game & Baseball Factory All-American in high school. The raw talent and power is elite & can take over games at the highest levels. At 6’3-215lbs, he runs a 6.57, 60yd. Definitely shouldn’t be overlooked by pro teams in the upcoming MLB Draft!

One of my favorite catchers in this year’s Draft is Ryan Stafford (Cal Poly Baseball). Excellent track record on both sides of the baseball. After a Freshman All-American season in ‘22, Stafford last spring hit .313/.393/.500 with 20 2B, 7 HR, and 44 RBI. Also hit .312 in 22 games on the Cape and .345 with Team USA. Relaxed setup in the box, stands almost completely upright with a slightly open front side. Small stride with minimal movement. Very level, line drive-oriented stroke. Excellent job of keeping the barrel in the hitting zone. All fields approach with advanced barrel awareness and plus bat-to-ball skills (90% IZ contact rate). Would put a 60 on the hit tool. Really stands out defensively. Across two seasons at Cal Poly, Stafford has thrown out 22-of-50 (44%) of potential base stealers and allowed just 5 passed balls. Good athlete, moves really well laterally and does an outstanding job of corralling balls in the dirt. Strong, accurate throwing arm to all bases. Plus defender overall. Extremely levelheaded, slow heartbeat type of player. Top-100 overall upside this July.

Eric Hartman 3/6 with a double, 2 stolen bases and 2 rbis. The ball absolutely explodes off his bat. He catches up to velo (he absolutely destroyed a 96 mph foul ball in his last at bat before the single) and stays back and through the off speed really well. His speed is top end. The way he can drive with his exit velos and his speed and glove already has him up into my top 10 prosects early in the year. .312 with a 1.030 OPS 5 Doubles 1 Triple 8 Home runs 10 Stolen bases in 23 games. And again.....he's only 19 years old.

The ACC just had an excellent season, with its premier program Clemson not contributing, but apparently they’re “secret garbage.” • National Championship appearance • Miami by themselves won as many CFP games as the entire 5-bid SEC. • Winning record vs. the SEC (for the second time in the last three years. Five consecutive wins over the SEC to end last season). • Virginia just won 11 games. • SMU is 20-7 in two years at the Power 4 level. • Georgia Tech had their best season since 2016. • Duke won 9 games for the third time in the last four years. • Louisville won 9+ games for a third consecutive season. • 9-4 Wake Forest just had their best season since 2021 in their first year under Jake Dickert. • FSU, in the midst of a 2-6 year in ACC play, smoked Alabama. Dabo Swinney and Clemson had a bad year for the first time since 2010 and weren’t in the mix at all, and the ACC was still extremely competitive. And the narrative is somehow that they are an “afterthought of a conference.”

3B Kevin Bazzell (Texas Tech Baseball) is sneaky one of the best pure hitters in this year's Draft class. In his first full collegiate season, he slashed .348/.453/.572 with 24 2B, 10 HR, 62 RBI, and more BB (45) than K (32). Tied the program record for most doubles in a season and was named First Team All-Big 12. Extremely simple setup in the box with a minimal stride and slight barrel tip. No wasted movement, takes a direct path to the baseball. Does an excellent job of consistently staying inside the ball. Level swing, barrel is in the hitting zone for a while. Hit over power profile, but the hit tool is a strong 60 with above average power to the pull side. Has an advanced approach along with plus bat-to-ball skills and plus feel for the barrel. Last season he worked a 92% overall IZ contact rate, including an absurd 96% IZ contact rate against FB. Converted catcher, can pick it over at 3B and continues to get better with time. Has a plus arm and has shown comfortability attacking the baseball. Hard worker who keeps his head down and is a darn good player. Potential top-2 round pick this July.

INF Kodey Shojinaga (Kansas Baseball) is an intriguing Sophomore-eligible prospect. Was outstanding as a true Freshman and hit .378/.421/.526 with 11 2B, 6 HR, and 32 RBIs. Also slashed .326/.396/.349 across 11 games on the Cape. Shojinaga was named Co-Freshman of the Year in the Big 12 and earned a Team USA invitation. Medium build at 5'10", 190-lbs with some physicality in the lower-half. Slightly open front side in the box with a normal handset. Holds bat horizontally over his back shoulder with the barrel pointed slightly back. Medium-high leg kick, but the stride itself is small. Little bit of a bat wrap, but he's consistently on time. Average bat speed. Hit over power profile right now, but Shojinaga has an advanced feel for the barrel and plus bat-to-ball skills. Last season, he sported a 93% overall IZ contact rate. Approach is sound, but sometimes chases down/away. Does a nice job of using the whole field and working inside the baseball. Would put a 55 on the pure hit tool. Sound defender at 2B with above average arm strength and makes the plays he needs to make. He has quick hands and some range in either direction. Shojinaga also has experience catching, and got some reps behind the plate this summer for Team USA. Will be interesting to see what it would look like if he focused on catching - actions need refining, but the arm strength is there. Shojinaga will need to really hit, and he's capable of doing so. This July, he profiles as a 5th-8th round pick.

The 19 year-old forward continues to show off elite defensive instincts, secondary playmaking and high level effort/toughness.
