Hossein Mohebbi said, according to Tasnim News. “For us, the Strait of Hormuz is not just an economic waterway; it is a geographical and strategic component of our power,” Mohebbi said. He said the U.S. must fully accept Iran’s conditions and stop interfering in regional negotiations, adding: “Whenever the United States accepts Iran’s conditions, the Strait of Hormuz will certainly be reopened.”

Iran Deputy FM Gharibabadi: The US sent a message requesting negotiations & a resolution of issues approximately 4 or 5 days after the start of the new round of conflict. Any agreement regarding the Strait of Hormuz should only be between Iran & Oman. We will not accept any foreign interference in the Strait of Hormuz. With the implementation of the new agreement, existing temporary routes in the Strait of Hormuz will be closed. A significant portion of the routes for ships entering and exiting Iranian territorial waters will pass through.
