Hungary just had a real-life GTA VI moment. A drunk 24-year-old snuck onto an airfield, stole a Cessna 172, and flew it toward a nuclear power plant. The military scrambled two Gripen fighter jets. He couldn’t handle the plane, crash-landed in a sunflower field… then tried to steal the car of the guy who stopped to help him. Police arrested him minutes later. What the hell was that?

#BREAKING: Israeli F-16 and F-35 Fighter Jets Confirmed at Somaliland’s Berbera Air Base. Onlookers captured footage of Israeli F-16 and F-35 stealth fighter jets taking off from Berbera Military Air Base in Somaliland, as the aircraft took part in an operation to secure Somaliland’s airspace during the official visit of Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar. The video confirms, for the first time, the presence of Israeli fighter jets in Somaliland’s Gulf of Aden region—previously the subject of unverified reports and speculation. Earlier this week, satellite imagery revealed hardened aircraft shelters at Berbera Military Air Base, located near a deep-water port and in close proximity to the Bab el-Mandeb maritime chokepoint, one of the world’s most critical corridors for global trade and energy flows. Berbera’s port and airport offer significant strategic value and could be leveraged by Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States, either independently or through joint arrangements. Its location provides a forward operating base for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance activities, as well as the capacity to support rapid-response or precision strike operations across the Red Sea, directly opposite Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen.

Since the start of the conflict with Iran, Israeli Air Force fighter jets have dropped over 2,000 bombs in hundreds of strikes against Iranian regime targets and military sites, according to the IDF. The number is around half of what the IAF used over the entire course of the 12-day war in June 2025 -- but in just 36 hours. During those 36 hours, IAF fighter jets have carried out over 700 sorties, the military says. The military says that it achieved aerial superiority within 24 hours of the start of the operation, after taking out numerous Iranian air defense systems in western Iran. IAF fighter jets are now using "stand-in" weapons over the capital Tehran, meaning bombs dropped directly over their targets, rather than ranged missiles. The military says it seeks to maintain air supremacy as it carries out strikes on regime targets in the Iranian capital. "In recent hours, air force aircraft have been operating with air superiority over the skies of Tehran, striking and destroying numerous targets," the IDF says in a statement. The IDF says that the targets included ballistic missile launchers, air defense systems, and headquarters. At the same time, IAF fighter jets, helicopters, and air defense systems have shot down more than 50 drones launched from Iran at Israel, the military adds.

🧐🇺🇸 The Country That Put More Fighter Jets in Foreign Skies Than the Rest of the World Combined For more than 70 years, the United States has dominated the global fighter aircraft market, exporting thousands of combat jets to allies across the world. Its fighters have flown in the colors of dozens of nations, making American aircraft the backbone of many of the world's most powerful air forces. The numbers are staggering: ◽ F-16 Fighting Falcon, More than 4,600 built, making it one of the most successful fighter jet programs ever created. It remains America's most exported fighter and is operated by over 25 countries. ◽ F-15 Eagle & Strike Eagle, Among the most capable air superiority and strike fighters ever built, exported to key allies across the Middle East and Asia. ◽ F/A-18 Hornet & Super Hornet, Trusted by allied air forces and navies for decades. ◽ F-35 Lightning II, The largest fifth generation fighter export program in history, with more than 20 nations already committed to the aircraft. America's dominance is not just about building aircraft. It offers pilot training, weapons integration, maintenance support, continuous upgrades, and access to a vast military industrial network that keeps aircraft effective for decades. While many nations can build fighter jets, very few can provide the global support system that comes with them. From the F-4 Phantom and F-5 Tiger during the Cold War to today's F-35 stealth fighter, American aircraft have shaped air combat across generations. No nation has exported more fighter jets. No nation has equipped more allied air forces. And no fighter export empire has had a greater impact on the balance of air power worldwide.

This is real gun camera footage from a P-51 Mustang, chasing a German Bf 109 down to the treetops until it goes down in flames. The American pilot flying it, Lt John Kirla, shot down five enemy planes in a single day, becoming an ace in one mission. This footage captures one of his victories over a Bf 109. This is his story.. From Trainee to the Yoxford Boys John Kirla was not a born fighter ace. He was an ordinary young American who had come up through flight training in Texas, graduating at the start of 1944. He learned his trade on trainers, moved up to fighters, and got just 15 hours in the P-51 Mustang before being sent to England as a replacement pilot. He joined the 362nd Fighter Squadron of the 357th Fighter Group, a unit based at Leiston that was already becoming a legend. The 357th was the first group in the Eighth Air Force fully equipped with the Mustang, and it would go on to produce more aces than any other fighter group in the Eighth, including Chuck Yeager and Bud Anderson. Kirla was the newest pilot in a squadron already filled with experienced aces. His job was to escort American bombers deep into Germany and protect them from the Luftwaffe. On November 27 1944, he got the day that would define him. Five Victories in One Mission That morning the 357th ran headlong into a massive swarm of German fighters trying to get at the bombers. Kirla's flight dropped their fuel tanks and dived straight into the middle of it. Almost immediately, the fight became a swirling, low-level brawl of Mustangs, Messerschmitts, and Focke-Wulfs twisting across the sky. Kirla picked out his first target and opened fire, and from that moment he did not stop hunting. In his own account, he spotted a Bf 109 that was attacking an American bomber. He went after it, closed to just 30 yards, and when the German threw his fighter into a tight barrel roll straight down toward the ground, Kirla stayed glued to his tail and, in his words, clobbered him all over until he went down. An Ace in a Day He kept finding more. Again and again through that wild, sprawling fight, Kirla latched onto an enemy aircraft and did not let go. At one point he watched a German fighter shoot down one of his fellow Mustang pilots right in front of him, and closed in for revenge. As he described it afterward, he opened fire, saw pieces start to fly off the enemy aircraft, and watched it fall out of the sky like a leaf drifting to the ground. Rather than breaking away and climbing back to safety, Kirla chased his targets down low, following them almost to the ground, the fighters weaving over villages and treetops until the enemy aircraft finally went down. By the time the fight was over, John Kirla had shot down five German aircraft in a single mission. He had become an ace in a day, one of the relatively few American fighter pilots to achieve that in a single mission. The Mustang That Changed the Air War The Mustang was the aircraft that made days like Kirla's possible. The P-51 combined long range, high speed, and deadly firepower, and it could follow the bombers all the way to their targets and fight the German fighters on equal or better terms. By the end of the war, P-51 groups had claimed close to 5,000 enemy aircraft shot down, about half of all American air-to-air kills in the European theater. Kirla's own group, the 357th, became the top-scoring Mustang group in the Eighth Air Force. Flying one of the finest escort fighters of the war, men like Kirla helped turn the tide of the air war over Germany. The gun-camera film rolling every time he pressed the trigger captured it all, including the footage you are watching. John Kirla's Legacy John Kirla flew on to the end of his combat tour and finished the war as a double ace, credited with 11 and a half enemy aircraft destroyed in the air. He was awarded the Silver Star and the Distinguished Flying Cross for his courage in the skies over Europe. He had gone from a trainee with a handful of hours in a Mustang to one of the deadliest fighter pilots in one of the deadliest fighter groups of the war, in the span of a single year. The footage of his Mustang chasing a Bf 109 down to the trees is only a few seconds long. But behind those few seconds is a young American who climbed into a fighter, dove into a swarm of the enemy, and shot down five of them before the day was out. This was the story of John Kirla. I post a story like this every single day. Most people never see them. Follow so you don't miss the next one.

An informed military source has disclosed to Fars News Agency new details about a complex Iranian intelligence and operational effort preceding the early Thursday attacks on several US military bases in the region. According to the source, the strikes inflicted significant damage on high-value US military equipment. The source said Iranian forces closely tracked two US Navy P-8 surveillance aircraft from the moment they took off. One aircraft reportedly departed from Diego Garcia Air Base in the central Indian Ocean, while the other flew from a US military base in Western Europe toward the southern Persian Gulf. Based on intelligence gathered during the operation, Iran allegedly targeted the aircrafts’ locations at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain and Ali Al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait using precision-guided weapons. A separate source stated that Iranian intelligence and field surveillance assets also monitored the deployment of at least three US F-35 fighter jets inside a hangar at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan up until the final moments before the missile launches. According to the source, Iran subsequently struck the exact location of the hangar with long-range solid-fuel missiles.

Greek F-16s openly harassed and provoked Turkish jets in international airspace. Six Greek F-16 fighter jets took off from Skyros and Lemnos air bases and aggressively harassed Turkish F-16s in the international legal airspace between the Turkish Aegan islands of Lesbos and Chios. This action clearly demonstrates that Greece is deliberately escalating tensions in the region and displaying a hostile attitude toward Turkish air assets. Greece routinely treats international airspace as if it were its own sovereign territory, carrying out harassment and violations against Turkish jets, and increasing instability in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Aegean through such provocative actions. This news video is for illustrative purposes only.

The nature of the Turk, a testimony On 9 September 1922, soon after the Turkish army had moved into Smyrna, a Turkish officer and two soldiers took Archbishop Chrysostomos of Smyrna from the office of the cathedral and delivered him to the Turkish commander-in-chief, Nureddin Pasha. Fahrettin Altay, a Turkish General, went to Mustafa Kemal and told him that Chrysostomos is brought over. Mustafa Kemal instructed Nurreddin Pasha to deal with him. From the balcony Nurredin shouted to the mob below to deal with the Archbishop in any manner they see fit. The mob took possession of Archbishop Chrysostomos and carried him away. A little further on, in front of a barbershop the mob stopped and the Archbishop was slipped into a white barber's overall. They began to beat him with their fists and sticks and to spit on his face. They riddled him with stabs. They tore his beard off, they gouged his eyes out, they cut off his nose and ears. Mustafa Kemal, according to Turkish sources, was saddened by the news. 🙄🤮 | h/t Spirosthe1st #Turkey #Smyrna #ChrysostomosOfSmyrna #MustafaKemal
