keep listening to more and more music until stuff starts clicking i guess. learning to play helps too

different strokes i suppose, i play guitar and like some pretty wacky stuff and have interrogated fans rigorously but for the life of me can't get past the rhythmic weirdness

do you enjoy jazz?

i do and like monk in particular and can totally get behind listening to just solo lines especially over a tune i know but i think there's some threshold in the free jazz direction where i can't feel the groove underneath at all anymore - entirely possibly a skill issue

i think it literally is a skill issue which is why it took so long for me
