A skeleton crew remains as fences are torn down and allegedly contaminated hay from the killing fields is dragged all over the yard and driven out onto the highway. A Dark Chapter Ends and a New Chapter Begins... More than 6 weeks after the CFIA, and their RCMP paramilitary protection force, seized Universal Ostrich Farms and two adjacent properties, provoked and terrorized family and supporters, they have finished taking down their fences and police tape and have released the property. It feels very surreal to me. The horrific slaughter is over and the occupying force is gone but this story is far from over. It's the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. Now will be a time to grieve and then begin the long process of picking up the pieces and going after the people that perpetrated this heinous crime on innocent Canadian farmers. There will be accountability... It is now our singular mission.

Biohazard?!? As the CFIA and RCMP breaking down their operation and clearing out of the seized properties, they used blood-soaked kill pen hay to fill ruts in the torn up roads they cut in the fields. Dozens of vehicles traveled back and forth to the pens and over this hay before exiting the farm and driving off down the highway. There was zero decontamination done and no one was wearing PPE. You can hear a number of birds calling in this video and at the end there are what appear to be ducks walking through water next to the bloody kill pen.

Absolutely heartbreaking update from the Universal Ostrich Farm an hour ago. The injured hen, who broke her leg running from the RCMP drones, then later was dragged from the barn by CFIA agents and left behind a shed, is dying alone while the family is left to watch 😭💔 This is absolute horrendous animal cruelty by the hands of the CFIA. My heart breaks for Katie and her family & all the Ostriches. I pray they get the justice they deserve!

UPDATE: RCMP have confirmed an investigation is underway at Universal Ostrich Farms. There has been a lot of concern raised about the number of ostriches on the farm. Specifically that the number is far lower than it should be. Sgt. Mike Rude (retired) has been gathering evidence which was delivered to rcmp this morning with Katie and family. The investigation is ongoing and I will provide updates when they are provided by RCMP.

UPDATE from Universal Ostrich Farms: Mike and I took FOB SMITH to the RCMP command post. There is a lot of fencing and a lot of bins there today but far less vehicles and police than usual. There is still no official ostrich count and no indication that CFIA or RCMP will be doing one. Mike and I are continuing to gather evidence, we are looking for the truth. There is zero transparency here and a lot of things in place that make it appear there is something to hide. CFIA or the RCMP could easily put many of these questions to rest with a count of the birds and a sliver of transparency.
