This is more than just a simple engine failure. The MD-11 should have been able to still take off with two good engines. The wing area where the engine was mounted was fully engulfed. Almost as if the engine separated. Despite getting partially airborne the jet failed to climb.

This is why it’s best to wait for more information before seeking possibilities.
