Bro. The game is LINEAR AS FUCK. No one even needs the scent trail. It's not like you can fucking deviate from the path. Why are folks defending this crap? Sure the game looks kinda fun, but it's literally made for people who are fucking braindead, I guarantee if the devs released a topographical map of each area of this game, you would all stop defending it. Bitch I can see the fucking borders of the area just from the videos!

They should have just made it like an interactive hint, like some blood splatter, foot prints etc that he could sniff, and get a hint of general direction. The devs truly hate gaming and immersion.

Why do we need 3 different kinds of waypoint systems in the game? Part of being a dev is respecting the intelligence of your players and being confident in your level design that they will know where to go.

That's not how smell works. It's not a visible line into the distance. It's a direction in the immediate vicinity. Dogs sniff and move in one direction, then keep sniffing, this suggests the "trail" shows up only in the immediate vicinity. Where are the game designers in AAA?
