These gentleman were visiting Thailand for the first time. They were excited to see the sites and try their amazing hot and spicy cuisine. One night, they see a busy “restaurant” and they sit down, and before they can order, people started bringing them heaping plates of delicious food, even when they said they were full, they were still bringing more. After they ate and drank their fill, they asked someone to bring them their bill. That’s when they were socked and felt bad. They didn’t do to a restaurant, they walked into the reception for someone’s funeral. The family knew they were tourists and treated them like family nonetheless. That’s not how history museums work, space cadet. They preserve and interpret history. They don’t exist to check every box on a politician’s culture war wish list. I was wrong. I am removing the word “recent.” He’s making billions while he’s screwing over American workers. And the Republicans who are going along with it—they are complicit in it. They are just as responsible, and history will record it as such.
