We are delighted to inform our people that the drive from Abeokuta to Papalanto is now free of bad portions. The contractor handling the Abeokuta-Ota-Lagos Road project has almost completed the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the section between Abeokuta and Papalanto, making the journey along this axis smooth and stress-free. Work is also progressing steadily between Papalanto, Ifo, and Sango, where construction activities are ongoing to deliver a durable and motorable road for the benefit of all. This project, though a federal road, was formally handed over to us after several years of failed interventions, and we took it upon ourselves to ensure it is fixed once and for all. Our administration remains resolute in its commitment to providing quality infrastructure that enhances economic growth, facilitates ease of movement, and improves the daily lives of our people. We have substantially completed the reconstruction of Tam Balogun Road in Ijebu-Ode, with all major asphalt works now finished under our administration’s ongoing drive to strengthen road infrastructure across Ogun State. The project is currently at about 98% completion, with only lane markings left to be carried out. With both the binder and final wearing courses in place, the road is fully motorable and already improving movement, safety, and travel time for residents and road users. This is one of several strategic road projects we are delivering to ease transportation, support local economic activities, and make daily commuting smoother for our people, as we continue to build a better and more connected Ogun State. #BuildingOurFutureTogether #RoadInfrastructure #DapoAbiodun

Our second oversight visit was at WF Nkomo Street resurfacing project. Approximately 4km of roadway near the CBD is currently being resurfaced, with work progressing on this important transport corridor. During the visit, we assessed progress on site and engaged on the project scope, timelines, and the completion of remaining works, including road markings and resurfacing along sections still awaiting upgrades. Over a month after our last update, we continue to record steady and measurable progress on the reconstruction of the Lagos–Abeokuta Road. Although it is a Federal road that suffered decades of neglect long before the commencement of this administration, we took a deliberate decision to intervene in the interest of our people. In reconstructing the road, rigid concrete pavement is being deployed specifically at low points and areas with high water tables, where durability is critical, while other sections are executed using appropriate asphalt solutions. We have identified a City owned building in the CBD that was abandoned for 10 years. We want this property to be used as a workspace for young entrepreneurs. The decision to do this follows an X-Space we held with young entrepreneurs who complained about not having space to work. We are availing this city asset for the benefit of young people to work and do business. The building, located on Nana Sita, and should be ready by early 2026 to be utilised as an Entrepreneurs Corner. We are committed to implementing the Tshwane Economic Revitalisation Strategy.
