As promised, a new direct train from Bengaluru to Mumbai is flagged off today. 30 years after the first one began, in 1983. Another, faster Vande Bharat overnight sleeper will begin soon, in a couple of months. Thanking Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw Ji for launching the SMVT Bengaluru-Mumbai Lokmanya Tilak Terminus bi-weekly Express service today. This new train will improve regional connectivity and contribute to the economic growth of Karnataka and Maharashtra. Today, I also requested for a high-speed rail corridor on this route, via Davanagere & Hubballi, which would greatly reduce travel time and generate immense opportunities for people in the region.

RED LINE UPDATE: The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has announced that the trial runs for the Red Line Rail project has commenced today, which will take 4-6 weeks to be done. During this period, there will be 4 Trips per day, 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. FOR MORNING PEAK: In the Morning, the train will move from Oyingbo Station (Ebute Metta) by 8:30am in the morning to arrive at Agbado Station by 9:37am 2nd trip: from Agbado, the train will move by 10:30am back to Oyingbo 11:37am. One coach has already been constructed, which is a car body that is ready at our factory in Latur for demonstration. Now the ramp-up of production is going to start by the end of this year. But the overall coaches, the total volume is 1920 cars which we need to design, deliver and manufacture to the customer. So, in total, 1920 coaches are 120 trains of 16 cars each. Three depots have been given to us. One is in Jodhpur, which is in quite an advanced stage. Another in Bijwasan, which is near Delhi. And the third one is in southern part of India, which is in Thanisandra. So those three depots are being allocated to us to maintain these trains. So the route obviously is going to be decided by Indian Railways...We are committed to maintaining these trains for the next 35 years..."

Indian Railways High Speed Rail #IndiaHSR. At the site, on the ground. 32m below the ground is this Terminus Station of the Bullet Train in #Mumbai at BKC. What you see in the pic is work on the three station platforms with six lines. This is the lowest level where the Shinkansen Alfa-X, aka Shinkansen E10 trainsets, shall arrive once the project completely gets going. Work is 20 pc complete. The deadline for the station is September 2027. With three tiers, equivalent to a 10-storey building, the skylit covered roof will be visible from the platform, the lowest level floor. Above the platform and tracks will be a floor with concourse, public amenities and the floor above that will be the service floor for train operations, the ground entry point. What you see in the last pic is the IFLS station of Mumbai Metro Yellow Line 2B {Mankhurd-Andheri-Dahisar (2A)}. The ILFS station is also close to the Bharat Diamond Bourse.

As the Modi government issues fresh guidelines mandating the full rendition of Rishi Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s immortal and soul-stirring composition, Vande Mataram, India’s National Song, at designated official functions, I, as a proud citizen of Bharat, extend my deepest respect, sincere affection, and heartfelt greetings to my fellow citizens who identify themselves as Bharatiya above everything else. Vande Mataram is not just our National Song but the very pulse of Bharat. It is not merely an artefact of the past but the foundation of Bharat’s glorious future. Just as Maa Durga’s fury against adharma manifested as Maa Kali and annihilated Raktabeej’s oppression, Rishi Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s anger against the British, after being insulted and attacked in Berhampore despite serving as Deputy Collector because he was a Bharatiya with dignity, became the mother-seed of Vande Mataram. Rishi Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s stay at Lalgola Palace, amid the sylvan beauty of Bengal, became a cloistered monastery for his meditation on nation, nationhood, and nationalism. From that meditation was born the hymn to Bharat Mata that reawakened Bharat Shakti and triggered the realisation of our nation’s civilisational identity. Matangini Hazra, who became the face of the rising tide of nationalist fervour, faced death at the hands of the British colonial police chanting the two immortal words—Vande Mataram. During the freedom movement, newspapers flew flags on their mastheads emblazoned with these sacred words, which remind us of our loyalty to our nation and our duty towards Bharat Mata, who has nurtured us and given us our identity as a civilisational nation. Let us not reduce this song to an annual hashtag or a ceremonial chorus. Vande Mataram runs through the veins of every Bharatiya. It is our inspiration, our motivation, the core of our identity. In Igando, the Solous III dumpsite will also witness a major shift. With a new recovery facility planned for Badagry, we’ll be relocating 1,500 tonnes of waste daily; showing our commitment to decentralising and modernising waste handling in Lagos. What excites me most is the impact this will have beyond cleaner streets. Over 5,000 jobs, both direct and indirect will be created through this project.
