Museveni, at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds in Kampala earlier in the day (January 8) stranded at Mukono District party offices after reportedly being abandoned by hired transport operators. Participants proposed three names: Busoga National University, Busoga Public University and Busoga International University. Busoga University was closed in 2017 over irregularities, including unqualified staff, unaccredited courses and awarding fake degrees to over 1,000 students. It was handed over to the Ministry of Education in 2018 for re-establishment as a public institution following a directive by President Museveni.
