Islam is not a religion and it’s not compatible with a Constitutional Republic. The foundation of Islam is Jihad. Jihad is Arabic for “struggle” or “striving.” Its goal is to build a just society and defend Islam. Their definition of justice does not include the modern western ideals of justice that we would embrace. Their idea of justice is living under Sharia law.
