Update No arrests have been made in the murder of Brandon Pretorius (26). Brandon was assaulted in Boksburg, outside the Malboer Bar and Grill parking area on 25 April 2025 and then allegedly followed by the perpetrators who forced his car off the road and assaulted him again. He passed away in hospital this week. Information has been provided to police on one possible suspect.

Air Force vet Richard Butler was sitting in his car after dropping off his girlfriend when a man walked up and shot him twice in the chest. Butler's murder came out of nowhere as his family says he was well-known in the community and loved by all. "He's been an outstanding citizen in the community. Took care of all the kids from the block," his son said. The family has absolutely no clue why he was targeted and says everyone who met him, loved him. He also dedicated himself to helping the youth in his community. The family says the killing was not random and was targeted. The suspect has still not been identified. Awful.

JUST IN: A 38-year-old security guard, Hendrik Haulamba, has alleged that he was brutally assaulted while on duty in the early hours of Friday morning at around 02:00. According to Haulamba, the owner of the premises where he was guarding in Okahandja allegedly threw him against a wall, kicked him repeatedly, and warned other workers not to assist him or make any noise, allegedly threatening to shoot them if they intervened. Haulamba further claims that when he reported the incident to his employer, Expert Security, he was told the alleged assault amounted to "disciplining" him. As the sole breadwinner of his family, Haulamba says he is still in pain and fears returning to work, claiming he remains afraid of being assaulted again.
