A burning object believed to have fallen from space was found at a mining site in rural Western Australia on Oct. 18, according to local authorities. “Initial assessments indicate the item was made of carbon fibre and may be a composite-overwrapped pressure vessel or rocket tank, consistent with aerospace components.” the Western Australia Police Force said. The object’s characteristics were “consistent with known space re-entry debris,” they added.
