🚰The work of repairing the 1,800 mm water main of Veravli Service Reservoir, in Andheri, is now in the final stages! 🔧The repairs are expected to be completed in the next 2-3 hours. City of Harare admits air can trigger water meter charges The City of Harare and Helcraw Water say prepaid water meters work the same way as ordinary water meters. They say the meters are not faulty. According to the statement, when there is air trapped in water pipes after events like burst pipes, repairs, or when the water supply is restored, that air can pass through water meters and cause them to record water use even though mostly air is flowing. The city says this is a known challenge that affects both prepaid and conventional water meters, and that current technology cannot always tell the difference between water and large amounts of pressurised air. Residents are advised to close their taps immediately if only air is coming out and report the problem to the City of Harare or Helcraw Water so technicians can fix it. The city also says it is installing air release and pressure relief valves across the water network to reduce trapped air, improve the water system, and minimise incorrect meter readings caused by air. It says it remains committed to providing a reliable and transparent water supply.

The work at Adiyan Water Works Phase II Project is going on steadily as scheduled with the pipe laying at 98% completion. While there are some contingencies to smoothen out, the hard work continues to be done and in accordance to the project timeline with maximum efficiency. This project, a 320,000³/day water treatment plant, when completed, will supply over 70millions gallons of water to homes within the Lagos metropolis. In no time, houses across Lagos will have pipe borne water flowing yet again. This reaffirms the Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration’s commitment to ensuring supply of portable water to homes in Lagos State in line with the THEMES+ Agenda. #CleanerLagos #AGreaterLagosRising

Tshwane-owned water tankers are on the road providing water to residents. We recently announced that we are abandoning contracted services for water tankers. From 1 April, City staff have been working to provide water to residents in need. We visited Hammanskraal hydrant collection points this morning along with Ward Councillors and MMC for Utility Services Cllr Frans Boshielo. While work is underway to stabilise water supply through infrastructure maintenance and repairs, residents must continue to receive adequate water supply. All these efforts form part our Water Stabilisation Plan that’s backed by funding from the City’s budget. City of Tshwane

Update on Transmission Pipeline Repairs at Outering Road We wish to inform our customers that repair works on the damaged transmission pipeline along Outering Road are progressing, with only a small section remaining to be completed. Unfortunately, the ongoing heavy rains have significantly hampered operations, particularly across the river section. Due to safety concerns for our staff and equipment, we were forced to halt all further works at approximately 10:00 PM last night. We anticipate resuming and completing the remaining repairs later today, weather permitting. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the disruption in water supply. In the meantime, customers are strongly encouraged to order water through our bowser delivery service by dialing *260# and selecting Option 5. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work to restore normal supply as quickly and safely as possible.

Through the Pattiseema & Purushothapatnam Lift Irrigation Schemes, which lift Godavari water and divert it to the Krishna River and North Andhra. These are interim systems. Once Polavaram is fully completed, water will flow through the main canals by gravity.
