@CryptoReady11 I don't know who it was or what it was related but him and a whole bunch of people had their xdc stolen. Look on the the xdc block chain explorer. It's not hard to figure out. Did you look into it yourself already? He gave plenty of information to do so

@timmyxdc It’s through the “dcent ID wallet number” .. they keep track of everyone’s holdings and can actually access it whenever they please. It’s definitely an inside job.. dcent will soon disappear as a company but after they whip majority of large holders out first

My deepest sympathies to the guy that lost his XDC. While that is a horrible thing to experience, I can’t help but wonder how these cold storage hacks can occur if they don’t have a seed phrase. Plus, it’s not like a hot wallet, you need to authorize transactions on the cold wallet before anything can be moved. I can’t say this definitely, but it does seem like there’s a push to get people off of cold wallets and onto custodial services.

🚨 THIS is exactly why we cannot say the D’CENT hardware wallet is unaffected. Here is another victim publicly reporting that they did NOT use an app wallet and NEVER entered their seed phrase anywhere, yet says the majority of their XDC was stolen from their D’CENT hardware device. This does not yet prove the hardware itself was compromised — but it absolutely demands investigation. Was it the device? Firmware? App/device interaction? Seed generation? Something else? @DCENTWALLETS — victims deserve a forensic explanation of the root cause. Stop leaving the community to figure this out themselves.

Noticed your hardware wallet was allegedly drained in March and not part of the recent software wallet hack. Can you explain everything to me in detail what you interacted with using that biometric wallet. So we can all better narrow this down. Because if you interacted with a malicious app/desktop app, updated your wallet on fake phishing site (very common) I've actually done multiple investigations on this issue. Or interacting with a app or saving your seed phrase on a computer, phone, cloud.

Happened to me. File a report with police immediately, if it’s over 10k in dollar value it will get escalated, fbi, secret service, etc. if it’s found in a tether wallet block chain (pardon phrasing), tether has been cooperating with authorities and can help.

Maybe you did what I did. I started with an App wallet and it created my seed phrase. then weeks later I decided to get the cold biometric wallet. I installed it using the app and when I was done the app management showed that there was no app wallets, only my existing cold wallet was listed as Biometric. I assumed the seed phrase was migrated to the cold wallet and erased from the app. I was wrong and lost all of my XRP. The should never let you even install a cold wallet like this.

New DCent app update did also not fix problems. It only escalated and Dcent is silent.

How did you setup the biometric wallet? Was it connected to the app during setup? Is “blind signing” enabled? Are you “staking” on the device? User error is the number one reason why assets get stolen.

Victim here. It’s NOT phishing. It’s a PRNG seed flaw in older D'CENT apps. I reported to FBI IC3 & KISA with proof my device was 100% clean (WiFi-only, no SMS). The company is covering this up. (XRP)

“Not your keys, not your crypto” is the thing of the pass. Well regulated exchanges have matured throughout the last few years, and it’s totally safe to store your asset on those platform. Matter of fact, it is way safer than cold wallets. People need to realize time has changed.

a seed never leaving the device is not the same as the signing path never being abused. firmware, bluetooth pairing, and the companion app are still attack surface. if this is real, the useful post is the tx path, not just the warning.
