Hirokazu Koreeda on how he directs Children: "Interviewer: I think 'Shoplifters' (2018) is very remarkable in showing different sides of a city and like you said, people who are pretty much invisible, but I do want to also commend you on another thing, is you often work with young actors, and they always tend to have a significant role in many of your films. How do you go about finding such dynamic young actors, and why do you often put these young people at the center of each one of your stories? Koreeda: First of all, I would say that I tend to make what I would call family dramas, and of course, you have to have children if you’re creating a family, but that’s how it started, but I found that as I did it, I became really interested. It became very interesting and fun to work with these children, and for example, the two children in this film, neither of them had any acting experience at all before this film. I brought them in, and what I find when you bring these children in, and you work with them is that the adult actors change. They become much more lively and natural in the way that they act, and I guess, at some point, I realized this, and I guess, became really attracted to the idea of having children and the impact that it had. Interviewer: Do you find that there is any struggle in terms of working with young actors, or in this case, young children who have not actually acted before? Koreeda: Just to clarify, I have worked with children in many of my films, and all of them have never had experienced before. I always go out and pick non-acting children to work in my films, so just, I wanted to put that out there. In terms of the struggle, it does take time. You have to give extra time to work with these children. When I choose these children, I have an audition, and I pick out who I want to the audition, and then when we get to set, I never give them the script. No child that I’ve worked with has been given a script beforehand, and when I get to the actual part where they’re going to be acting, I give them the lines myself, and work with them and coach them. What I find is that it’s actually really enjoyable, both for them and for myself that way. I also, because I’ve been doing this now for several years, I tend to have a fairly high success rate in choosing children that are able to work with me in that way. Interviewer: That’s fascinating, and it also shows how you are able to create such authentic performances from these child actors over and over again in so many of your films. I think it’s a unique gift that you have, and it’s something that very few directors, I think, here in the United States do. Koreeda: It’s true, I guess by working with these children, I learned. I discovered that the best way to do it was just to communicate verbally their lines, rather than giving them in a written format, and over time, this really worked, and so I just kept doing it. I want to be very clear: my family and I did not participate in, plan, encourage, or benefit from any of this. Like many of you, we believed we were dealing with a genuine emergency and acted based on the information we had at the time. We were worried, emotionally distressed, and doing everything we could to help someone we love. This situation has been heartbreaking for us. Not only have we had to deal with the emotional impact of everything that has happened, but we have also had to face public scrutiny, accusations, and judgment for something we had absolutely no involvement in. So stay quiet and stop being a problem.’ …There were people who were trying to compel me to retransition, people who were trying to tell me to kill myself, even just for the fact that I was going against the dogma. And I stayed low for a little bit. I apologized to the same people who were abusing me because I was a freshly traumatized 16 year old girl. I had been bullied in school before, but nobody had ever treated me this horribly over such a painful part of my life. But after a while of being painfully isolated. I started to really think the way that they are treating me is not deserved. I'm speaking to nothing but my experience, to the way that I feel and to reality. I'm going to speak up, regardless of whether they want me to or not. And I just knew that there had to be other detransitioners out there. And very quickly, I learned that they were in the thousands. And I'm sure that it's doubled, tripled, quadrupled over the years, the amount of us who are out there. TWITTER APPRECIATION POST. Flashback to 11th of January, this year (2024), after a long night of tears and uncertainty, I made a post of X (Twiter), stating the growth and strides I have achieved so far in my business, where I’d like to be this year, and how I have reached a plateau. I had approached a lot of banks and individuals that I know could afford but to no avail, this, as a result led me to my last resort, “making a post on (X) twitter” on the 11th, and I’d say is my biggest breakthrough since I was born. I made the post around 7am that day, which I had composed overnight while crying heavily. The post quickly gained traction and went viral with the help of ALL OF YOU, it was as if I was dreaming! It was just like a dream, a lot of people came into my DM to ask for my account details and I was seeing cash gifts of hundreds of thousands of naira!!! As if that was not enough, someone I have been admiring and made my role model from afar reached out to me and offered me a NON-INTEREST LOAN OF MILLIONS OF NAIRA! I will keep them anonymous for now, we reached agreements that I should be paying monthly with two month moratorium and to the glory of God, I have never defaulted till this day, which I pray to never ever happen. This was yet, my biggest breakthrough since I was born, and this would not have happened without you reading this post now. 1994 is out.... Actually kind of can't believe I'm writing that 😭! Four years ago when I was working on a building site, I was having panic attacks daily. I had no idea what I was doing with my life. I was absolutely miserable and everything filled me with such dread that I could sometimes barely function... Then a certain song came along and completely flipped my life on it’s head 🏴‍☠️😭 now in 2024 I have just released an album full of songs that I wrote that at the time of writing has nearly 100 million streams already. Not bad!!! I literally could not have done this without 𝐒𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐓 𝐏𝐇𝐍𝐗 for a start, these boys have been absolutely incredible, an inspiration to me and an absolute fountain of experience. Thank you to my managers for sticking with me, helping me every step of the way, seeing the vision and trusting the process. Thank you to everyone at the label for giving me the platform and also trusting me and the process of this album. And last but not least, thank you to my beautiful wife for putting up with me and this wild ride that I’ve dragged us on called life. This week, I had to confront Grok because, it is citing open source intelligence reports to claim that Burkina Faso’s security is worsening. But we know what’s happening on ground and more importantly, the villagers know the truth and see the difference. Anyway, you may not understand what the journalist is narrating, but just by watching this video, you will see how the Burkinabè army is using drones, fighter planes and troops on the ground to wipe out these criminals. Moreover, if you want to know the truth about the attack in Djibo on May 11th, 2025, it start at 7:53-14:51 mins. Pay close attention to what you will see! It’s only drones and jets dropping missiles on them. The air vectors don’t even give them time to regroup. As soon as they are spotted, they struck them and that causes them to disperse and panick. It’s a rout and they are all running for their lives. So, when I hear terrorists and their sympathizers claim that 100 or 200 Burkinabè soldiers were killed, I just ask them one question: where are the bodies of our fallen soldiers? Show them to me! 🔥 For 10 YEARS they were after me🔥 - I was falsely accused of a federal crime and fought a court case for nearly 10 years! Despite being offered several plea deals, I refused to plead guilty to something I didn’t do. After 10 years and over 36 court appearances, the case was finally dismissed when the government admitted they didn’t have enough evidence to move forward. It was a long and costly legal battle, but I stood my ground and was ultimately vindicated. Understand that there are consequences when fighting this system. When you are exposing Satan, standing for your people and exposing this government it will target you…. On the 13th of Sept, someone transferred 180k for an iPhone Xs 256GB. After acknowledging his receipt, he called, and I told him we don't have it but will ask colleagues and let him know. I asked my friend, and he told me 190k. I begged him to leave it at 180k because that is what the guy deposited (check frame 2 for reference). When he sent the phone from Kano to Jos, then I noticed it was an Xs Max. Seeing that the guy was in a hurry and didn't want to disappoint, I called him and told him what happened and said if he wants the Max, he can take it at no additional cost. I was willing to settle the difference because it was his first time buying from us. I packaged it with a new premium charger because all our used phones are sent packaged in our branded box with a charger, and I sent it to him in Abuja. He later messaged that he has received the phone and truly appreciates it. After months of not receiving any complaints from him, it clearly indicates that he has received a fully functioning phone. It is in our policy that if you find anything faulty within one week, you can return it to us and either ask for a replacement or refund. What this means is that the cost of bringing it from Kano to Jos, the packaging and charger, and the delivery to Abuja are all a loss to me. But I didn't mind because at least I have satisfied him. Nine weeks later, while I was in Kano, I saw a call from an unknown number. When I picked up, he said it was him. He told me that the camera has started giving him problems. I told him it has been months since you bought it, but you can take it to any repair store and tell me how much you spent, and I will pay. He asked if I know anyone, and I sent him someone's number. The guy didn't pick; he texted and informed me and later called me. I told him to go to anyone he trusts and let me know the amount he spent. A few days later, I was stranded between Kaduna and Abuja on my trip from Kano to Abuja because my car engine failed. He called, and I didn't pick; I don't even know his number. Later in the night, I received his messages on WhatsApp with a threat that he will make a video to tarnish the image of my business. Someone I was willing to help after months of buying a USED device from me is threatening me. I said he should go ahead because I can't entertain him anymore. In conclusion, a trade that I incurred a loss from is what some people are trying to justify as a scam. The beautiful part is I have made trades with hundreds of people here, and I would love two more people to come out and present a case in which they are still using a device I sold to them that is faulty and they contacted me for a replacement or refund, and I didn't do it instantly. "The hypocrite will always look for faults" - Ghazali. Those that are looking for a fault in me can justify something as woke as this; it doesn't matter. This is my own side and will no longer entertain him anymore. For those that believe in me without hearing from me, thank you so much.

Being boldly outspoken online holds risks. Exposure holds risks. This is why so many fear taking up space or using their voices on the internet. People will pick your words apart, project their own beliefs, fears, insecurities and perceptions on you, make assumptions and even get off on the drama. I have been exposed in the online space since 2018. And through the years, I have been more and more outspoken about my philosophy around FemDom and BDSM, unapologetically. My practice as a Mistress was always sacred to me. And as a Mentor, I hold myself on the same standard and understand the responsibility I hold to lead women on their Mistress Journey, I do not take this lightly. It is also sacred to me. I first entered the SW industry in 2011 from a very disempowered place and experienced heavy trauma. I barely got out of what I got myself into (if you know my story you know). And when I reentered the industry in 2017, I knew my boundaries, that I would work for myself, and that becoming a Professional Dominatrix was a calling. In 5 years, I built something extraordinary. I made a shit ton of money, yes, but I also had real, genuine and long lasting D/s relationships, with subs I respected and who respected me. Not just who admired me, but actually cared about me, as I cared about them. I had my own Dungeon, that was one of the best in Montreal, and I had an online practice that I developed during COVID that helped my business explode. Yes, there will always be people who don't resonate, or who don't like me or what I teach or how I do things. But we are all adults, and we should therefore address concerns like adults. In a mature, ethical, loving way. Not with hate threads. I am extremely disheartened that the controversy I am facing is coming from peers and women I respected. Not from some online troll or someone outside the industry judging SWers. That I was prepared to debate with, to defend my community. Yet, the women who are questioning me publicly and writing about me as if they know what they are talking about, have never met me, spoken to me, been in any of my containers. It's just based on assumptions, wrong interpretation of my words, triggers and prejudice. It is because of women like this that there is such a sister wound in this industry. And one of the most beautiful feedbacks I get from the women in my world, is how healing it is to be in a genuine sisterhood, with no cattiness. I stand by what I said and how I meant it. And if it did not land for you, that's okay, it was just not meant for you. Enough time and energy has been leaked on this. I know people in an official capacity who have interviewed with people that exactly fit this description, and I have pushed on them, being like, 'What is it going to take for someone like that to come forward, publicly?' And by the way, that was part of an ICIG investigation where people of that level were communicated with, and I know exactly who is doing that back and forth." (I'd love to know more about that ICIG investigation. Is it related to what Grusch claimed?) Corbell: "And here's the deal, man. They said to me, 'What would be the motivation for someone like that to break from the fold and destroy their whole lives, just because they were called in to come talk with me? It's not gonna happen. It just not gonna happen.' (If those folks are sharing that information with Corbell, it appears that it's not classified. So those investigators should be able to tell us what they told Corbell. Will they? Probably not. On the flip side, those people who spoke to Corbell could get around the classified aspect by offering up a hypothetical: "Jeremy, if witnesses like that exist, and have spoken to me, why would they destroy their whole lives and go public? Just because they were told they needed to speak with me? Again, hypothetically speaking.") Corbell: "There has to be somebody who's so upset with something surrounding this, that they're just like, gonna try to burn it all down. And usually those people never make it to the starting point, you know? If they're coming from that attitude. People that work in those programs are so highly monitored with polygraphs, and, you know, their family lives, making sure they're stable. "If you remember, all the way back, looking to Lazar, why did he get not called back for The Program? It was because they found out his wife was cheating on him and he became a security risk. That's how security clearances work, is you have to have a stable family life. So people that would break from the fold, that are feeling all that type of pressure and just try to burn the whole house down? Dude, they're going to find out they're in that mental state way prior to them ever being able to get to the starting point. "So it's a long way to say, yeah, man, the Holy Grail? Yeah, I know about those conversations. I've talked to people on both sides of those conversations." (Both sides to me means that Corbell is saying he DID talk to the people who interviewed the whistleblowers and the actual whistleblowers themselves. That's not the biggest takeaway from what he said, but it would be nice to know if he or George Knapp have spoken directly to those firsthand folks and aren't just hearing it second hand.) Corbell: "The thing is, there's no indication that people like that are at this moment willing to come forward. And in fact - I can't go further than that - but in fact, if people were willing at one point, I don't think it's possible anymore for them." (What's changed to where Corbell doesn't think it's possible any more? That's extremely important to know.) Corbell: "Well, what I'm admitting to is that, in official capacity, there are people doing this investigation that have conveyed to me their direct, official debriefing with individuals in those programs. Like, working on the technology, currently. Non-human technology. So I know these people have had those investigatory roles and had those briefings and took the information because of the ICIG, you know, reports." (That makes it seem like it was more than just a hypothetical, which I mentioned earlier.) Murgia: "Cool." Corbell: "Yeah, I wish I could help more on that, guys, you know?" (If you've been waiting for those types of hands-on, firsthand folks to come forward, you need to adjust your expectations after seeing what Corbell said. I have. And we still have a hearing coming in September where we will, hopefully, learn new and interesting information from firsthand witnesses who we have never heard from before.)

In the late 1970’s, I calculated that we were going to have a global debt default. I was so confident in what that meant for the markets that I went to Congress to share my perspective. I couldn’t have been more wrong. While several countries defaulted on their debt, the impact on markets was the opposite of what I expected. And I lost a lot of money — for me and for my clients. I had to let all of my employees go. But it was the best experience that ever happened to me because it taught me that pain + reflection = progress. And it taught me three lessons that became the foundation of Bridgewater’s success.
