The reason why people can’t afford houses is because the banking system is creating asset bubbles. You can’t make nonproductive loans and treat that as expansion of the economy. And when you keep that interest rate artificially low those house prices become impossible for someone having to save up a percentage of that as the down payment. Raise the interest rate, stop spending more than is being taken in, and get inflation at 0%
