Kurdish SDF forces have withdrawn from Raqqa — a major city in Syria The national flag has been raised in the city. It is now under the control of the central government. The conflict between the Kurds and the Syrian government has sharply escalated in recent days. Authorities in Damascus, backed by Turkey, have launched a large-scale offensive against the SDF. Earlier, they took Kurdish districts of Aleppo, then captured Tabqa and key dams on the Euphrates, pushing Kurdish forces to the river’s northern and eastern banks. At the same time, armed Arab tribes turned against the SDF. As a result, the Kurds lost control of oil-rich areas near Deir ez-Zor, after which unrest also broke out in Raqqa — the former “capital” of ISIS. The United States, which previously supported the Kurds, has taken a neutral stance that benefits Damascus. A separate threat comes from ISIS prisons located in Kurdish-held areas: amid the chaos, militants may attempt to break free, giving terrorists a chance to return.

Urgent and Important ‼️ A cell affiliated with ISIS was captured by the People’s Protection Units (YPG). The cell came from Deir ez-Zor and entered Al-Hasakah with the intention of attacking Al-Ghweran Prison, which is filled with ISIS members. The cell members were reportedly sent from Deir ez-Zor by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (Al-Julani) to free ISIS detainees in Al-Ghweran Prison.
