Pakistan 🇵🇰 aiding ISIS, it’s ironic and dangerous. To call Pakistan a “phenomenal” partner. You cannot fight terrorism with one hand and feed it with the other. No more excuses; it’s time for accountability or isolation.

I do not believe it is a binary switch that we can’t have a relationship with Pakistan if we have a relationship with India, says US Central Command chief, Gen Michael Kurilla. He describes Pakistan as a phenomenal counterterrorism partner for the one-off Pakistani support against ISIS-K in Afghanistan. The simping of Pakistan is strong on this one. This isn't about binaries at all. It's about common sense. Truth is the US has a strong blindspot-- it is happy to overlook Pakistani terror against India in exchange for half-baked strategic cooperation in the region, despite knowing that it is being taken for a ride by Islamabad for the most part. Zalmay Khalilzad reacts: "While there are instance of Pakistani cooperation.. they are limiting our counter terror operations even as hundres of ISIS operatives are active in their country. As in the past, the Pakistani military continues to be both foe and friend. Remember where we found Osama Bin Laden!" Will the lesson ever be learnt? Well, Asim Munir is headed to the US for Army Day celebrations, so not any time soon.
