Apparently Douyin just allowed Vietnamese users to register Douyin with Vietnamese phone number and Vietnamese passport. Now Vietnamese users can livestream and make money on Douyin without restrictions. I wonder if China is experimenting with opening Douyin to foreigners starting with neighboring countries or is this just due to some special arrangement with Vietnam only
