The National Union of Journalists (NUJ) has held a vigil outside Downing Street for Palestinian journalists killed by Israeli forces since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza in October 2023. The vigil followed the killing of Anas al-Sharif, one of Gaza’s most prominent reporters, alongside Mohammed Qreiqeh and three others, when Israeli forces targeted a tent sheltering journalists outside Al-Shifa Hospital. Each attendee at the vigil held the name of a journalist killed by Israel in Gaza. According to figures, at least 283 Palestinian journalists have been killed since the beginning of Israel’s war on Gaza.
