But there is no agreement in sight, and I’m not sure how there can be an agreement that both sides will honor so it holds. Both sides are committed too deep and heir demands are incompatible with each other.

We are working with the United States to ensure that Ukraine still can receive the necessary number of Patriot systems. This is not an easy task, but it is one of the security guarantees for Ukraine – and it will work in the long term. In Washington, I spoke with defense companies that produce Patriots and other weapons we need. The willingness to work with Ukraine is fully sufficient – Ukraine is trusted. It is important that there be enough support for this at the political level in Washington.

We settled eight wars and this is the most difficult one. I thought it would be in the middle of the pack. This, this is the most difficult one, but we're gonna get it done. We're gonna have a great meeting today. This gentleman has worked very hard, and is very brave, and his people are very brave. Deputy Prime Minister of Canada Chrystia Freeland today commenting about the documentary. “There is a film that is due to be screened at Tiff today in Toronto about Russian soldiers at War. Ukrainian diplomats and the Ukrainian Canadian Community have expressed really grave concerns about that film and I do want to say I share those concerns. We have to be really clear that this is a war where there is no moral equivalency this is a war of Russian aggression this is a war where Russia is breaking international law and committing war crimes. There is very clearly good and evil in this war. Ukrainians are fighting for their sovereignty and for democracy around the world and we as a country have to be very, very clear that there can be no moral equivalency in our understanding of this conflict. It's not right for Canadian public money to be supporting the screening and production of a film like this.”

President Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff said he is actively working on ending Russia's war in Ukraine. In an interview with 60 Minutes correspondent Lesley Stahl, he said that "peace is infectious now," and more people want to do peace deals. "Doing a peace deal is becoming infectious.
