South Africa has withdrawn from America and our allies in recent years while deepening its relationships with our foreign adversaries like China, Russia, Iran, and Hamas. Secretary Rubio agrees that a FULL review of our bilateral relationship with South Africa would be beneficial to OUR country! We must pass my U.S.-South Africa Bilateral Relations Review Act to give the State Department the tools they need to develop America’s future strategy towards the country.

The Trump administration said Wednesday that it will not renew the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement, also known as the USMCA. Instead, U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer says the U.S. will engage with the other two nations to address what he called the agreement's "shortcomings." Far from being a loss to Africa, the end of AGOA is an opportunity to rewrite the continent's economics story on its own terms, and in the African Continental Free Trade Area (AFCTA) lies an opportunity to do so in a manner that would be transformational. The time has come for Africa to use its own resources and population to enrich itself, rather than tie itself up in Western dependency masked as "bilateral trade agreements."
