This is really cool! Might resurrect an old kindle this weekend

For that same purpose I use a Onyx Note Air 4C (color yay)

Very nice

Nice keyboard! For anyone wondering:

🙏

@bendukt Does this ship to India? wont mind paying extra

@bendukt Just for the Kickstarter, we're planning to ship everywhere since it is a smaller batch. After that if there continues to be demand we'll probably just focus on the US

@ai__exe @bendukt what' would it cost??

@ai__exe @bendukt Should be factored into our initial modeling in the price otherwise I’ll just refund people that I can’t ship to:

eink yipee

Very nice

Install Omarchy :)

@daylightco let’s get this man a daylight computer

@daylightco Interesting, hadn't heard of it. Looks great

I'm not even going to ask you about your setup

Fable 5.1 did all the breaking in for me so I'd have to dig in to even explain what it did to make this happen, purely vibe coded

Why did you need Fable for this? SSH is not that hard to use on a kindle, and majority of kindles can be jailbroken to use SSH

Why not? It saved me a ton of time and I love the end result

wow i didnt think that kindle eink displays could support this sort of interactivity. pretty surprised by this.

Yep refresh rate wasn't any issue

@ggswangg If u want a kindle coding agent u should checkout vercel’s fx, it runs pretty smoothly after some zig work and it’s easy to add a drawing tool.

@ggswangg Interesting

I'm building lil OS like this, share GitHub if you wanna try it out

Share a repo mate

what is this keyboard?

Here's a link: It's the first sample from the trial production from our manufacturer. Have been loving it so far in my testing

much better to do this for @daylightco plus this via @_welf

Can you share the GitHub repo? Or any step by step tutorial? 😉

I turned a boox go 7 color e-reader into an ipad replacement for my kids. Built a custom app launcher so to gate apps, time usage, and tracking. e-ink is the tech we needed for this moment

1. Fuck, now I need to re-up my Claude sub to turn my Kindle into something useful as well. 2. DUDE. That keyboard you're creating? I need it. That's awesome! Hope it'll make it to my desk sooner rather than later.

Yes it is! If you’re curious about it I write little updates here you can take a look:

i can only look at this one hand keyboard, wtf is this.. i wanna have that!! :O

It's the ergonomic keyboard I'm building, here's the kickstarter if you're interested:

@uirenzhen このタイプのチルトだと、手首を斜面から滑り落ちないように保持しなくてはならなくて長時間の作業で辛いので自分はストッパーをつけています。無くても大丈夫ですか?

@uirenzhen 個人的には、手が滑るほど強い傾斜ではないと感じています。ただ、好みに合わせて傾斜(チルト)なしで使うことも可能です。その場合はテンティング用のケースを使わなければ大丈夫です。イメージが伝わるように写真を添付しますね。

Working on something similar - Canvas app for understanding for @daylightco epaper screen MCP connection to codex so I can review and approve plan docs etc without blue light What do you think?

Cool

Whats this keyboard

Keyboard is from here: It's the first trial production from our manufacturer that I am testing out. Works great so far!

Revived an old bricked kindle this weekend just to do this!

What an interesting keyboard

Thank you

we actually need a proper product like this 👀 next project after the keyboard? @ryanlpeterman

Honestly tempting! I’ll consider it once the keyboard is in a good place E-ink is so satisfying

ikr will be first in line to contribute on kickstarter for sure 🫡

been using a raspberry pi 500+ and dasung paperlike 13k as a luxury version of this for the last year-ish. best computing experience i’ve had.

I spent more time on how he was getting all those letters using one hand

It's a split keyboard, my second hand is just out of the shot

Huge market for eink display for terminal use

there's night mode in all linux bro.

Using that keyboard is such a flex lol

White has blue light in it. This is what no blue light looks like.

I like this!

You keyboard is even more attracting to me lol

Blowing the dust off my kindle after seeing this.

how did you get the refresh rate so fast
