This is not a useful tip, instead it is a dangerous one. You should never repair a cord like this. It could be the cause of a fire.

Shrink wraps are cool but you need to solder those wires, they will pull apart otherwise and might short and start a fire. And just to be safer either replace whole cord if possible or use those badboys, If you don't know what you doing it will be safer
