Every time I see a post you make about electrical work I cringe. 1. Never ever ever make a naked splice. 2. Wire nuts are cheap use them. 3. Butt splices are even cheaper and work even better for this application. Use them. 4. A soldering iron is a great investment. If you have one a bit of solder shrink tubing will give you a splice that will last forever. Don"t do this please.
