Using iPad as the only display for Mac mini, wirelessly, is great. But the catch is the trackpad on iPad’s Magic Keyboard won’t work with Sidecar. So I use Siri Remote 1st gen as a sidekick.

The iPad's external display support is underrated. I connected my iPad to a Studio Display and ran Workbench. Now my headless Mac mini (back in Minneapolis) is running full-screen on a 27" display in Ohio. Remote Mac on a Studio Display through an iPad. Pretty wild. 🤯

afaik i'm the only one with an actually smart TV here's a demo of full computer use with just a remote, sitting on a couch. i can even get work done while chasing a toddler lmao reply below if you want to be a beta tester & i'll send you the download (mac only) - everything runs locally, no cloud AI. uses 4gb of gpu memory - mic is on the remote, so you can whisper into it, or use in crowded/loud environments - transcribes text directly or runs keyboard shortcuts / applescript if it sounds like an action command "i.e. close this page" - 600ms response time on my m3 max (transcription + LLM tool calls) - continuous transcription previews available. can be auto-turned off on battery to conserve battery - no apple tv remote required, you can also use your phone as the remote (screenshot below) even for direct transcription, it's quite a different experience than regular transcription software because you don't need to be close to your computer mic or your keyboard. you can be pacing around, which i love doing when writing long prompts also... the apple siri remote is a beautiful piece of hardware and has apple-quality trackpad. it's kind of a must for a good remote

😮‍💨 The Apple ecosystem is amazing sometimes. Woah Being able to use your iPad Pro Magic Keyboard to control both your iPad (running iPadOS) but then magically control your MacBook (running macOS) is just amazing. I guess you can have the best of both worlds 🤷‍♂️

Still needs some work but I added remote compiling to Vinci. Have an old (or more powerful) Mac laying around? Use it to compile your projects from your iOS, macOS, or visionOS device. Will add the ability to stream the Simulator from the Mac to the iPad for the full experience.

It is so simple to do we should have 10,000 nodes running… IzioDev -Download the software for Mac at the link in Michael’s tweet -Open the folder. Copy the file path for Kaspad -Paste it in a terminal window, press space, then type “- - utxoindex” (no space between the two dashes). -Press enter and let it run. Use a mini pc or something without a display that can run 24/7. I am using an M1 Mac Mini.
