The plastic tank is a pressure accumulator. It will perform better in the short-run, but not over an extended period. If you increase the size of the tubing from the tank above to the faucet the system's overall performance will improve; and it costs a lot less.

@LearnThinx It CANNOT alter the pressure. All it does is temporarily increase the flow.
