Spent a couple of days with Claude building a tool for rendering SVG icons. Added some basic interactions, but honestly ended up spending most of the time polishing them - not just simple gizmo transforms, but more interesting stuff, little effects, etc. Now it’d be cool to plug in a token-based agent to generate scenes and materials. Just for fun.

Most Home DIY fails don’t happen because people are careless. They happen because the internet sold them a fantasy version of physics, materials, and time. The expensive part isn’t the materials. It’s the second trip to the store, the drywall repair, the ruined weekend, and the quiet decision to never try that project again. Real DIY success isn’t about never failing. Accept that the video that said “this takes 20 minutes” was filmed by someone who already owned every tool and had done it twelve times. The projects that last are the ones where the person slowed down long enough to respect the materials instead of trying to outsmart them. I once renovated a whole house and it took four years for completion. A lot of mistakes were made that were frustrating but it was also very fulfilling. What’s the one DIY fail that taught you the most expensive lesson?

Power Of The Russian Psychics, 1993 — I converted this VCR tape sent to me along with 17 boxes of former Soviet Union Research from the grandchildren of a Washington DC based research scientist. Their only request is to use this materials as part of a larger local AI. Some of these materials came out of the Soviet Union just after the walls fell and may be the only copies of research into torsion fields, Kozyrev mirrors, psychic research, remote viewing and much more. He had a note to watch this VCR tape of a US TV special he anonymously consulted with and a few others to help his children and grand children to understand what he discovered. He did not want anyone to know his research as it would have impacted his career in science. Yet he did produce a ~700 page report for an “institution” on the materials. He passed away rather suddenly and now it is up to me and AI to make use of this. I need to get permission to open source all of these astonishing materials and if yes, it will be at the Internet Archive. Be skeptical like I am but be honest enough to think in possibility.
