In a press conference minutes ago, authorities said the Aspen Acres Fire is now 7 miles from Wetmore, Colorado, and now a mandatory evacuation is in effect for the Wetmore area. From Pueblo county line, to Mackenzie Junction, to Fremont county to the North. For an idea of how far this fire has run, the original evacuation shelter was in Wetmore… People are NOT being allowed into the fire area. The plan to asses homes lost has been postponed today due to fire activity. This fire is likely well over 40,000 acres now. Fire managers said they had to order a Team from Alaska due to other fires across the West utilizing a large number of resources. Red flag conditions persist over the fire area. 📷 Thomas Alvis

The Cottonwood Fire in Utah is making a sustained run this afternoon. Extreme fire weather has moved into the fire area, with sustained winds of 20-25MPH. This footage from Mariah Hicks shows how receptive the fuels are, and the effect of the low RH combined with high winds. Many fires across the west are bracing for the long duration Red Flag conditions settling in.

The entire community of Fort Providence has been ordered to evacuate due to wildfires burning in the Northwest Territories of Canada. The community of roughly 700 people got the order this morning at 8:57 AM, and are to relocate to Hay River. The fire ran 11km overnight and is now 2km from the community. Crews have been unable to attack the fire directly due to activity and aircraft have not been able to drop directly on the fire due to visibility. Structure protection measures are underway. Warm weather and low relative humidities have caused increased activity on wildfires in northern canada. Thanks to the subscriber who shared this view of Fire activity in the NWTs.

The fire remains active and is pushing into these areas: EVACUATION ORDER in effect for the area East of US 550 north of County Road (CR) 8 and south of CR 8A east to the US Forest boundary south to CR8 B along Cow Creek. Fire activity has increased exponentially on the north side of the #Widemouth2Fire. Based on a flyover, the fire is approximately 10,300 acres. The flareups that occurred earlier spotted over the north line and northeast line, closest to Turkey Track Lane and Cemetery Road. Fire is also pushing north to Highway 91. Everything south of 300 S is in GO evacuation status. The sheriff's office went door to door evacuating residents. Highway 133 is closed at the Kanosh city perimeter, except to residents. Highway 91 is closed to I-15. The fire has crossed Kanosh Canyon and established on the north side of the canyon. It's making a fast push northward, along the forest boundary. The IMT and sheriff are in discussions on further evacuations based on changing fire conditions. Fire behavior is extreme, with long distance spotting. This threat is real to the evacuated areas. We will have no weather reprieve, and the winds area predicted to continue from the south throughout the night. We will keep crews engaged with both aggressive fire suppression, as well as structure protection, throughout the night. More resources are on their way to assist, both ground and air support. Based on current fire behavior, the Millard County Sheriff's Office upgraded the evacuation levels: 🔴️Turkey Track Lane and Cemetery Road, and residents south of 300 S. are in "GO" status 🟡 The town of Kanosh north of 300 S. is in "SET" The spring feeding the city has been shut down. We're asking the residents to conserve water to avoid depleting the city tanks. Please follow all evacuation recommendations. Everyone except residents should avoid the Kanosh area to alleviate traffic, as residents evacuate and more fire traffic arrives to assist.
