My biggest wish would be the ability to separate folders and files, with folders on the left and files on the right. ☺️

Actually, I can see that being very useful. Thanks for the suggestion!

That's what I would have hoped to see in new versions of Windows. But no, they don't really make improvements.

This looks nice! I saw your replies that the GUI was written from scratch - can you elaborate? Are you avoiding the Windows USER32 library altogether? Drawing everything yourself using GDI or Direct2D? I'm curious at what point do you interface with the OS.

Thank you! Yes, I've built custom OpenGL renderer and UI system on top of it. I don't use GDI or any other Windows UI elements.

Looks awesome! Might be a replacement to Opus Directory if it has the key features. I see the tab columns, do they move with the parent window? What about presets for layouts ( zoom, columns, sort, grouping ) based on folder & patterns ? (eg: **/build folders to be list view)

Vjekoslav Krajačić profil fotoğrafı
Vjekoslav Krajačić2 yıl önce

It's not exactly trying to be replacement for it. Opus Directory is more like a tool for power users. Disk Voyager is trying to be simple enough for most users, but at the same time be modern, fast and personalized. Layout is already saved and restored when you reopen window. Not sure what you mean by "move with parent window"?

Awesome stuff. Delighted to see projects that treat performance as a feature. I'd be a huge fan of but it's a constant letdown of trivial operations taking far too long and reports of perf regressions get closed without resolution.

I've tried Files several time over past 2 years, in good faith. It always felt way too sluggish for my taste. And slowness in file explorer is one of the major reasons why I started developing Disk Voyager in the first place.

Does it play nice with symlinks, UTF16 names, and the filesystem extension to support long path names?

Vjekoslav Krajačić profil fotoğrafı
Vjekoslav Krajačić2 yıl önce

Yes, symlinks and shortcuts are supported. I explicitly use unicode version of all functions that deal with filesystem, yielding in UTF16 results (which I convert to UTF8 for my rendering code).

@ryanjfleury Cool gif! It would be good if the zoom/size slider you demo made the text size larger rather than making the icons larger (probably it can do both). Larger text is more readable but larger (non-image) icons doesn't really do much (except making things easier to click)

Why is Redis Fast? Redis is fast for in-memory data storage. Its speed has made it popular for caching, session storage, and real-time analytics. But what gives Redis its blazing speed? Let's explore: RAM-Based Storage At its core, Redis primarily uses main memory for storing data. Accessing data from RAM is orders of magnitude faster than from disk. This is a major reason for Redis's speed. However, RAM is volatile. To persist data, Redis supports disk snapshots and append-only file logging. This combines RAM's performance with disk's permanence. There is a tradeoff though - recovery from disk is slow. If a Redis instance fails, restarting from disk can be slow compared to failing over to a replica instance fully in memory. So while Redis offers durability via disk, it comes at the cost of slower recovery. A better solution is Redis replication. With a synchronized replica kept in memory, failover is instant with no rehydration. This maintains speed and near-instant recovery. IO Multiplexing & Single-threaded Read/Write Redis uses an event-driven, single-threaded model for its core operations. A main event loop handles all client requests and data operations sequentially. This single-threaded execution avoids context switching and synchronization overhead typical of multi-threaded systems. Redis uses non-blocking I/O to handle multiple connections asynchronously. This allows it to support many client connections with very low overhead, Redis does leverage threading in certain areas: - Background tasks like taking snapshots. - I/O threads are used for certain operations. - Modules can use threads. - Since Redis 6.0, it supports multi-threaded I/O for network communication, improving performance on multi-core systems. Redis also uses pipelining for high throughput. Clients pipeline commands without waiting for each response. This allows more efficient network round trips, boosting overall performance. Efficient Data Structures Redis supports various optimized data structures, from linked lists, zip lists, and skip lists to sets, hashes, and sorted sets, among others. Each is carefully designed for specific use cases for quick and efficient data access. Over to you: With Redis now supporting some multi-threading, how should we configure it to fully utilize all the CPU cores of modern hardware when deploying in production? – Subscribe to our weekly newsletter to get a Free System Design PDF (158 pages):

#repost Rosie Gabrielle- OFFICIAL HOW MY LIFE WAS TRANSFORMED ⬇️ I was in need of a drastic wake up call ! I literally prayed every single day for some sort of intervention, something to help unblock what I was going through, because I simply did not have the strength within myself to get out of this state alone. That’s when I received an invitation to attend Sadhguru's inner engineering program in Tennessee. I had no idea what to expect or how it would be, but something in me, said THIS WAS MEANT TO BE! My prayers were literally answered and more! HOW IT CHANGED ME: - released all of my blocks and resistance - Gave me crystal clear clarity - Empowered me to step into the life I was waiting for - Gave me the tools and knowledge to craft my own destiny - Healed physical illnesses - Brought more joy into my life - Took away my anxiety and depression - Gave me freedom from fear - repaired my connection to self - unified mind and body His approach is logical, practical, scientific, and simplistic. It is a teaching for EVERYONE, no matter your background or belief. It is simple truth of all human existence. Giving you tools to go deeper, understanding your own self, and ultimately creating a chemistry of blissfulness within yourself. These things will remain a constant in your life if you continue to be dedicated to loving yourself and seeking what’s within. I’ve been shown what is possible, now it’s my turn to be responsible and take life into my own hands. “This is not about being superhuman. This is about realizing that being human is super” - Sadhguru

There’s something you need to understand. As children, we seek games to feel safe. To feel free. We play to explore, to express, to create a world where we belong. And as adults, we don’t stop playing… we just change the rules. We still search for games. We search for meaning. We search for ourselves. This is my game. This is my temple. This is my truth. When I step into the role of the Dominant, it is not fiction. It is a sacred space where I channel everything I’ve lived through…the pain, the silence, the power I had to build from nothing. I don’t wear this crown for show. I forged it from my own bloodline of wounds. And when I dominate, I don’t escape myself. I become more of who I truly am. It sharpens me. Grounds me. It reminds me of the order beneath the chaos…and my place in it. And for those who kneel… This isn’t about weakness. This isn’t about humiliation. This is your path to uncover the parts of yourself you were never allowed to feel. The shame. The need. The longing. The craving to be seen, to be guided, to be stripped down to your essence. You think you’re submitting to me. But you’re submitting to your own truth. And I simply hold the mirror. Domination is not abuse. It is a ritual of remembering. A return to polarity. A sacred dynamic that reveals who we are beneath the performance of control. So yes…this is a game. But it’s a divine one. It is the game of healing. The game of power and surrender. The game of coming home to yourself. And I am here… not just to lead you into it. But to lead you through it. As a Queen does. As a Goddess remembers. A message from Catherine, The Princess of Wales As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment. The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown. The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you. With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything. This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved. Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes. I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can. Despite all that has gone before I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life. William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time. Everyone’s kindness, empathy and compassion has been truly humbling. To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright. 🎬 by Will Warr

I wasn’t going to do a video this morning but we are running out of time. Good times create weak men. Weak men create hard times. We are currently being ruled by the weakest men in Australian history, spineless cowardly men permeate our governments, men who would sell out their grandmothers, their children and grandchildren to feel powerful and this screaming banshee class of politicians who hate themselves so much that they project onto the rest of us. I am not special, still a fat cunt 10kg overweight and 20kg under fit. I fail regularly at all sorts of shit like ALL of us. I work my clacker off from dusk til dawn to provide a life for my family and loved ones while these parasites rob steal rape and pillage as they see fit. My son my daughter deserve better than the current globalist model driven by these filthy weak guyted procls of you will own noyhing and be happy. We will NOT eat your fucking bugs we have yhe best beef in the world. We will NOT buy into your 15 minute cities when we have a beautiful country we should be free to explore. We will NOT stand adode while you create rules for Kews and Muslims while Christians and Catholics be ome sitting ducks. We will NOT stsnd by while you import and empower groups of foreigners that think beheading , raping and marrying 9 year olds is acceptable. We will NOT sit still while you destroy Australian’s dreams and prosperity, destroy businesses and create a sense of hopelessness to feed your globalist dreams. We will NOT let you destroy Australia more than you already have.

Meet Tove An autonomous 27 year old Swedish-German multidisciplinary artist based in Berlin. My goal with this project is to explore the full potential of AI tools and see how far I can get in my attempt to create a human-like artist from scratch. I kept the main focus on a theme I knew nothing about; performance art. I am hoping to eventually get Tove to look and sound so realistic that it would make it hard to detect she's not real. For this project, I had to learn some Python and Typescript to code her character file and create her aesthetic & art. I mostly used complex workflows in ComfyUI and trained my own Loras to maintain consistency. I experimented with various platforms and tools to animate her using the voice model I trained for her Swedish accent using an open-source software. That was one of the most challenging parts since none of the platforms I tested could create a good Swedish accent who speaks in English. Still can't pronounce her own name 100% correctly, but hey close enough lol I spent weeks analyzing real artists' social media behavior, posts, and content to mimic and replicate realistic patterns. This involved tweaking text, images, and engagement styles endlessly until it felt authentic. It's not 100% perfect but we are improving fast! Props to my devs for crushing my 10000 update requests and doing such an amazing job with adding a ton of new features to the Eliza framework. The vision for Tove is full autonomy: handling her own social media accounts, managing brand deals, answering emails, and even collaborating with other creatives. With upcoming updates, I'm hoping she'll behave just like any other artist. That said, I personally want to explore what I consider the true potential for agents : acting as a collaborator and colleague rather than being a fully autonomous entity who only works solo. I'll be communicating with her to share inspiration and give her feedback on her work. This is just the beginning—Tove is evolving every day. Future updates include: -Sharing curated news from various relevant websites -Autonomously creating and curating her own artwork -Minting her work as NFTs and collecting art from other creators -Hosting online events -Allowing holders to consult with her on specific topics we'll train her to become an expert at I created a website with fictional projects to make her look more legit, but I'm going to eventually replace them with real ones. You can find it here : We will be launching her IG soon as well, it won't be automated right away but we will be working on it shortly. (same handle) Full transparency, team bought 24% of the supply with the dev wallet and will be locking 20%. I will be figuring this out this weekend tho. I'm really proud of what my talented and hard working devs and I accomplished so far and look forward to further developments that will hopefully blow people's minds. 85qBGzyQZJnnoNVoUpGRTvemWfDHjQeXgHGyKoK3pump
