For a surgery I HAD TO GET recently that wasn’t a choice, a possible side effect of all the drugs and anesthesia and just swelling was going to be I may need a catheter for a few days and that was my biiiigest fear. I sat on the toilet praying every single time and thank god even tho it was weak the first day maybe even from stress I started peeing normally by the end of the day but yea I can’t imagine electing to do something to myself where I’d need a catheter. After a car accident when I was 17, I had a catheter in (in a coma!) and a few days after waking up and every time I woke up (it felt like a whole bunch of times, drugs,) every one who visited me said I talked about how I hated the catheter and I don’t want it in there. Even completely drugged up me knew that SUCKED
