Wyclef Jean went on the One54 Podcast and lectured Black America: "unity is strength divide is the only way they conquer." Sounds deep. Here's the problem: Africa isn't even united with Africa. There are African nations sitting right next to each other that don't mess with each other. So how are you going to demand Black Americans "unite" with the whole diaspora when the diaspora isn't united with itself? This was never about Black Americans hating anybody. It's about a simple truth nobody wants to say out loud: everybody gets to prioritize their own; Haiti, Nigeria, Ghana, but the moment Black Americans do the same, suddenly it's "divisive." Black History Celebration Misrepresentation at Chaffey College Chaffey College I attended what was advertised as a Black History Celebration Kickoff at Chaffey College, expecting an event that truly honored Black culture and contributions. However, upon arrival, I saw little to no representation of Black history, culture, or community. The lack of authenticity was disappointing, but what was even more frustrating was the miscommunication. The email I received clearly stated this was a Black History Month event, yet the actual execution did not reflect that in any meaningful way. Additionally, my experience was made worse by an interaction with a staff member who rudely instructed us to move our booth. This unprofessionalism only added to my frustration. If an institution claims to celebrate Black history, there should be real representation and inclusion—not just a label for the sake of appearances. #grindfacetv
