This isn't new. It has been existing for years. boose made a suspension like that. However, for safety reasons country law states that car must have a full physical connection between the tyre and the car. This kind of motor doesn't allow the physical connection so it is banned

I work in automotive, and we already use field weakening to achieve the same results without moving the stator. This is actually in the market for long time.
