Search and rescue operations are still underway across northern Venezuela after two powerful earthquakes devastated the region. Many of the first rescue efforts came not from emergency crews, but from local residents, who rushed to dig through collapsed buildings before official responders could reach the hardest-hit areas. Damaged roads and blocked access delayed rescue teams as thousands remained trapped beneath the rubble.
