Venezuela receives 40 tons of medical supplies from Brazil A first shipment of 40 tons (of 300 tons pledged in total) of donated medical supplies from Brazil arrived Friday night at Maiquetía airport, replacing inventory that was destroyed in the U.S. bombing of medical warehouses in La Guaira on January 3. This shipment includes 110,000 treatment kits for hemodialysis, in addition to specialized medical supplies, dialyzers, catheters and solutions, to be used in the National Hemodialysis and Nephrology Program of Venezuela’s national public health system. This is the fourth shipment received this week to replace the destroyed supplies and equipment.

🚨#Update The first set of ships with containers filled with relief supplies have arrived in Jamaica. I am pleased that this will bolster our relief supplies and enable the Govt and responders to be able to more consistently distribute relief supplies to affected areas. #HurricaneMelissa

“We Are Dying!” An Urgent Appeal from Kidney Failure Patients in Gaza City Due to the ongoing Israeli blockade, kidney failure patients in Gaza City are facing a severe shortage of medications and essential medical supplies, along with a decline in the availability of regular dialysis treatment. This situation is placing the lives of hundreds of patients at immediate risk. We urgently appeal to the international community and humanitarian and medical organizations to intervene immediately to ensure the entry of medicines, medical supplies, and the fuel needed to keep healthcare facilities operating, and to safeguard patients’ right to life-saving treatment.

Sanctions Weren’t Enough, So They Bombed the Hospitals U.S. airstrikes in Venezuela destroyed warehouses holding dialysis and nephrology supplies for thousands of kidney patients, wiping out vital medicine and equipment in a country already starved by sanctions. A military operation framed as “security” becomes an assault on civilian health, and that’s not collateral, it’s policy. When sanctions already block medicine, bombing medical infrastructure is not an accident of war, but an extension of it.

🇵🇸💢 “The disaster is even more severe”: Israeli strike wipes out much of Gaza’s remaining strategic medical stockpile An Israeli strike destroyed two of four central medicine warehouses at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, including equipment and solutions needed to keep kidney dialysis services operating. Standing amid the wreckage, hospital director Raed Hussein told Drop Site contributor Abdel Qader Sabbah that the attack would have a “direct impact” on dialysis care and could force the hospital to halt treatment unless replacement supplies are secured. “The damage is even greater, the disaster is even more severe, and it will make it much harder for us to respond in the coming period,” Hussein said. Dr. Mounir al-Bursh, director general of Gaza’s Health Ministry, told Al Jazeera Arabic that the warehouses held the ministry’s strategic medical stockpile and that the strike destroyed large quantities of medicines and supplies. More than 52% of medicines and 54% of medical supplies are now unavailable, including dialysis supplies, al-Bursh said. He warned that Israel’s blockade, restrictions on medical imports, and repeated attacks on Gaza’s remaining healthcare infrastructure are depriving thousands of patients of treatment. “The loss of these warehouses means losing life-saving medicines and making patient care even more difficult.” By عبد القادر صباح and Jawa Ahmad.

Overnight between 3 and 4 September, an air attack in Kyiv Oblast affected one of the World Health Organization (WHO)'s main warehouses, storing humanitarian medical supplies. This is the third attack in three months on warehouses used by the WHO. Medical supplies and equipment are #NotATarget.

🚨HORRIBLE: Israeli airstrikes targeted the medical warehouses at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza, destroying critical medicines, IV fluids, and essential medical supplies used in dialysis, intensive care, and other lifesaving departments. The strike also damaged the hospital’s outpatient clinic and nearby buildings, leaving a crater more than 10 meters deep. As Gaza’s hospitals already face catastrophic shortages, the destruction of these supplies will further cripple their ability to treat patients.

Only five World Health Organization (WHO) trucks of medical supplies were allowed into #Gaza last week. More than 34 of our trucks are waiting at the Al Arish crossing, and 850 pallets of medical supplies are awaiting collection. A further 40 trucks are waiting at Ismailiya in Egypt. WHO calls for the restrictions on supplies entering Gaza to be lifted immediately.

As the largest provider of medicines and medical supplies in Gaza, WHO has delivered almost 900 truckloads of health supplies into #Gaza since the war began, including supplies from and for health partners. These are the supplies keeping the health system going. Since the ceasefire, WHO has been able to deliver an average of 20 trucks a week. But much more is needed Let aid flow. Open all crossings. Facilitate clearances.
