SEN. KELLY: I've spent 15 years working with Russian cosmonauts. Took me 5 years to understand what motivated them. Number one, appearance that they were in charge of something. Two, who to blame when something goes wrong. Three, what to steal today. Only four, mission success. I think as Ukrainians, as Americans, as Brits, we're often motivated by mission success. You want organization you work for to be successful, you want your country to be successful, you want British Army to be successful, I want US Navy to be successful, I want NASA to be successful. That wasn't my experience with Russian cosmonauts I worked with. I'm talking about dozens of people that I knew well, what motivated them when they went to work every day. At the top of the list was that they really cared about the appearance that they were in charge of something, not mission success. Now, whether they were really actually in charge of it or not didn't matter so much. Mission success wasn't even number two. Number two on the list, I would say, was whether they knew who to blame when something went wrong, like placing the blame. Russians have a position in their Mission Control Center which is called "mistakes officer." When a Russian cosmonaut makes a mistake, they keep track of it and they take money out of their pay. I would say the third thing, even before mission success, was what am I going to steal from my employer today. And we would talk about that. They were very open about this. And apparently there's a saying in Russian that if you didn't steal something at work that day, you did not have a good day. For us, and I think everybody in this room here, mission success is the thing that matters more than anything else. And for the Russians I worked with, it might have been number four on the list. So I actually was not that surprised about their incompetence.

‘More Than This’ came right at the end [of the UP album recording] and I’d started a thing with guitar samples. I was mucking around with guitars and Daniel Lanois left his beautiful Telecaster here. I can’t play guitar to save my life but I can make noises on it. I’d always liked it and in fact it was actually driving through the Italian Alps, again it is one of these scenic detours, and I found this old cassette which had this stuff on it where I’d been playing around with a different groove and that started all to make sense to me at that point. - pg More Than This was released as a single on 30 December 2002. Performance filmed in the Big Room at Real World Studios earlier that same year.

Iga Swiatek says the first set against Elena Rybakina was decided by a couple of points, but Elena stepped up the power & precision in the 2nd set “For sure I didn’t serve as well as in Cincinnati for example against Elena. My serve was kind of normal. And sometimes it could’ve given me a bit more. As I said, in the first set I think it was a difference of a couple points. She also gave me some chances on her serve. Sometimes I used them… sometimes it was like 30-30 and for example, I missed one return. I wanted to be aggressive on the second serve. So sometimes you will make mistakes. But if you want to break you need to make it in in a moment like that. In the 2nd set, I felt that the pace from her got a little bit even higher. She was more precise. Maybe I dropped the intensity at the beginning especially. I have some stuff I wanna work on. It’s never been so flawless for me playing on these courts, as they’re fast. People think Mike not wanting to take 3s was because, “hE SuCkEd at ShoOtInG tHeM” 3 point shooting is NOT hard that is why the ENTIRE league shoots them now at a decent clip. If you care and practice enough, you can be good at them. I can literally go into a gym right now without any warm up and hit 20/25 3s. I hoop once a week. Now imagine the greatest competitor the game has ever seen focus on training his 3?! I am GLAD Mike didn’t focus on his 3s and he was elite in EVERY other aspect of his game. He dazzled fans and did things we have not seen even today! Settling on 3s has made the GREATEST athletes in the game (example Ant man) become 3 point chuckers. Why would anyone pay their hard earned money to watch a shot that everyone at your local YMCA can take and make?! We want to see them jump out of the gym and create over the giants in the paint. We want to see things that will shock us. The athletes today are more than capable of it, but the 3 takes them away from those type of plays and forces them to become spot up shooters. The 3 point obsession has RUINED the game, every game looks the same and it is NOT entertaining! 👊🏼

I don’t even know what day it is anymore 😂 We’ve been in communication and I feel like we’ve built a little bit of a relationship now, which is amazing and I wish him all the best for the rest of the tournament. Hopefully throughout the year I can keep having more moments with him and encouragement. This game is literally "do you know ball" the video game. Developed by arcsys, this game laid the groundwork for what FighterZ would become, and even has a bunch of moves that would end up in FighterZ. The roster selection for the time felt perfect, and this was one of the first games you could play as Super Saiyan Blue Goku as he'd just been recently released in the movie. Extreme Butoden is something special, and I have very fond memories of playing it on a long road trip with my best friend. I highly recommend checking it out!

Namjoon talking about how Taehyung first took him to museum in 2018 and after that he has had passion for it. 🐨: I was in 2018. I was really, really bored and I got nothing to do. I didn't know anything except like shopping or playing games in the room. So just it just suddenly popped up and uh the a member of the team called V just proposed me like why don't we go to a museum and I was like a museum? I am not a museum guy and [laughter] isn't it just boring just just to go there and but we just went there uh because we got nothing to do and I saw the uh the paintings of Monae and Van Gone Sarah and of course I I knew the names of them because saw them uh and in the book when I was in school. So, but it was literally the first time to just have a like physically to have a chance to look at their actual um paintings. And um I think impressionism is is still the biggest uh the most widest open entrance for all of the outside people uh in the art in the art world. Yeah. So, Monet and G and S, they opened me the entrance and um as I got into it like further and further more and more, I just my taste um became a little bit more of a complex and uh complicated. So, yeah. Um, yeah. That's how I just got into it.

Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Dan Caine paid tribute to yet another unsung aspect of the joint force, focusing this time on those in artillery. “Now, as I often do, I want to share a little bit about our incredible joint force. Today, I’m going to talk about our incredible artillery force comprised of American soldiers and Marines who have been sinking ships, destroying depots, and launching Army tactical missiles, missile systems, or ATACMS precision strike missiles or PRISMS, and high mobility rocket systems, or HIMARS from outside Iran. Our army and marine artillery are hitting sites that Iran relies on to project power beyond their borders and protect our deployed. In just the first 13 days of this operation, our artillery forces have made history. They fired the first precision strike missiles ever used in combat, reaching deep into enemy territory. They’ve used Army ATACMS to sink multiple ships, including a submarine, and they’ve done all of this with the precision and determination that comes from relentless training and trust in each other and in their weapon systems.” “Yesterday, I had the incredible honor and privilege of speaking with some of our young soldiers from the Third Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the unit and the crew that fired the first precision strike missiles. The soldiers I met came from all over this great country: New York, Texas, Delaware, California. One had been in the Army only six months and had been in the unit for two months and was already deployed. He was the youngest at 20, but you would not know it from the way that they talked about their mission. The others were 22 and 28 years old. They spoke with the sense of calm, pride, purpose and clarity that tells you clearly they understand the weight of what they’re doing and the people who depend on them. I asked him to walk me through a fire mission. I asked not just what they do, but what they feel, especially those first crew members on this particular mission. These soldiers basically live in these vehicles behind us, the cab very tight. Two folks sit next to each other with the crew commander behind them. It’s jammed inside there with their personal weapons and kit, and they sit and wait for a fire mission. And when that fire mission comes, they close the armored doors and begin to program the systems. They then throw three simple toggle switches and 10 to 15 feet behind them, a rocket motor ignites and the round is headed downrange to do the nation’s work.” “I asked these youngsters, these young, awesome Americans, what does that feel like? And one of them just looked at me and said, ‘it’s awesome.’ No drama, no hesitation. In the middle of the day, in the middle of the night, in the sun, the rain and the snow. Flawless execution. Their Marine counterparts are out there doing the same thing every night. Same work, same pressure, same expectations, same results. And we hand tremendous and enormous responsibility to these young Americans, and they carry it with a level of maturity, grit, professionalism, and tenacity that makes me incredibly proud to be a part of their joint force. Their parents and families, what could and should be incredibly proud and their leaders. And I trust them to do the deeds that they must do in difficult circumstances every single time.” “I also want to touch today a moment — I want to touch for a moment today on their leadership. So, thank you to those soldiers and Marines out on the firing line supporting our mission. And thank you to their families. Our joint force will continue today to deliver dynamic fires against the enemy from the land, sea, and air. We remain deeply grateful for their service. And, for the third time today, I’ll mention that today will be our busiest day. This mission remains complex, dangerous, and difficult, and every service member has a family waiting for them to return home. In just the first 13 days of this operation, our artillery forces have made history. They fired the first precision strike missiles ever used in combat, reaching deep into enemy territory. They’ve used Army ATACMS to sink multiple ships, including a submarine, and they’ve done all of this with the precision and determination that comes from relentless training and trust in each other and in their weapon systems.” “Yesterday, I had the incredible honor and privilege of speaking with some of our young soldiers from the Third Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the unit and the crew that fired the first precision strike missiles. The soldiers I met came from all over this great country: New York, Texas, Delaware, California. One had been in the Army only six months and had been in the unit for two months and was already deployed. He was the youngest at 20, but you would not know it from the way that they talked about their mission. The others were 22 and 28 years old. They spoke with the sense of calm, pride, purpose and clarity that tells you clearly they understand the weight of what they’re doing and the people who depend on them. I asked him to walk me through a fire mission. I asked not just what they do, but what they feel, especially those first crew members on this particular mission. These soldiers basically live in these vehicles behind us, the cab very tight. Two folks sit next to each other with the crew commander behind them. It’s jammed inside there with their personal weapons and kit, and they sit and wait for a fire mission. And when that fire mission comes, they close the armored doors and begin to program the systems. They then throw three simple toggle switches and 10 to 15 feet behind them, a rocket motor ignites and the round is headed downrange to do the nation’s work.” “I asked these youngsters, these young, awesome Americans, what does that feel like? And one of them just looked at me and said, ‘it’s awesome.’ No drama, no hesitation. In the middle of the day, in the middle of the night, in the sun, the rain and the snow. Flawless execution. Their Marine counterparts are out there doing the same thing every night. Same work, same pressure, same expectations, same results. And we hand tremendous and enormous responsibility to these young Americans, and they carry it with a level of maturity, grit, professionalism, and tenacity that makes me incredibly proud to be a part of their joint force. Their parents and families, what could and should be incredibly proud and their leaders. And I trust them to do the deeds that they must do in difficult circumstances every single time.” “I also want to touch today a moment — I want to touch for a moment today on their leadership. These young Americans are led by extraordinary young leaders out at the tactical edge. Yesterday, the battery commander and her NCO were there with this crew on the same video screen. The two of them hardly said a word. They didn’t have to in their eyes — and in particular, the commander’s eyes — you could see the quiet trust and confidence she had in these soldiers and the rest of their battery. It came through loud and clear, and we appreciate their leadership. When I asked these soldiers yesterday, what is it that you need from the Secretary and I? They looked at each other, paused for a moment and look back at me and said, ‘more rounds, sir.’ It was awesome. So, thank you to those soldiers and Marines out on the firing line supporting our mission. And thank you to their families. Our joint force will continue today to deliver dynamic fires against the enemy from the land, sea, and air. We remain deeply grateful for their service. And, for the third time today, I’ll mention that today will be our busiest day. This mission remains complex, dangerous, and difficult, and every service member has a family waiting for them to return home. And I want to thank all of the families today who are supporting their deployed forces and those doing the work here in the States.”

I'm totally floored. In all of my years working in high school sports, I have never received a gift quite like the one I got today. My wife ran into the house this afternoon and shared this video, which players and coaches of Section 1 girls basketball created. We watched it as a family. We all had tears in our eyes. My daughters are 11 and 9, and I bring them to HS basketball games a lot. It's not just to expose them to the game so they can learn Xs and Os. I genuinely believe the community of girls playing the sport in Section 1 right now are true role models. My girls idolize players like Sophie Nascimento and Cadence Nicholas, and I want my girls to grow up and be just like them - as much off the court than on it. These players, regardless of school rivalries or AAU programs support each other in a way I just don't see in any other sport. It's a special era. And I'm grateful to be a small part of it. Thank you to Julia Scott and coach Pat Buckley of Albertus Magnus for organizing this video, and all of the girls and coaches who took the time. I don't think any of them truly understand how much it means. I love you all.

So just it just suddenly popped up and uh the a member of the team called V just proposed me like why don't we go to a museum and I was like a museum? I am not a museum guy and isn't it just boring just just to go there and but we just went there uh because we got nothing to do and I saw the uh the paintings of Monae and Van Gone Sarah and of course I I knew the names of them because saw them uh and in the book when I was in school. So, but it was literally the first time to just have a like physically to have a chance to look at their actual um paintings. And I think impressionism is is still the biggest uh the most widest open entrance for all of the outside people uh in the art in the art world. Yeah. So, Monet and G and S, they opened me the entrance and um as I got into it like further and further more and more, I just my taste um became a little bit more of a complex and uh complicated.
